My home course is nothing like Southern Hills except:

  • you want to avoid the rough
  • you NEVER want to go over a green
  • only 2 par 5's
  • the par 3's are really hard
  • the course is hilly
  • the bunkers are not easy to deal with
  • hitting the fairway doesn't automatically mean you get a level lie or even a good look at the green
  • the wind swirls

Actually my course is very much like Southern Hills except our club house would probably fit inside one of their maintenance sheds

KCee His swing did not look the same on the last 5-6 holes and his swing on #18 tee looked like a 15-25 capper.

Amen to that....! On his follow through on 18 tee, his hands NEVER got above his left shoulder....!!! Looked like a bad baseball swing....

    Van de Choke's was worse because I think he had a shot at making an easy bogey after his errant drive and he got aggressive. IIRC, bogey would still win.

        He was trying to steer it. The 5i was a decent swing but a poor drop yardage IMO.

        Double bogey would have won for Van de Velde - he was three shots ahead playing the 18th.

                Apparently, there was an announcer that said that Van de Velde could have played the hole with only his putter in less than 7 shots - seemed like a good idea for a video for someone...
