I love a heavily relieved leading edge on wedges. Cally has done that on this year’s Jaws Raw line. I want either the X or Z but would like to demo first. This is great for tight Bermuda.

I just did this to an old Golfworks wedge yesterday. This is 40 degrees bounce. Big improvement.
You can also see where I did a heel and trailing edge on it in the past. It used to be a blocky, clunky thing.

I literally cannot tell any difference in flight or distance from the stock Alta CB R flex shaft. Either the FGS is the value of the millennium ($9.99), or I'm such a geezer that shafts make no difference. That's my review. Don't hesitate to game this shaft.

I've been saying that for years. I still have some in clubs, gave some away that were given to me, sold some, and still have some new ones iirc.
You have to like a 'mid' weight shaft though. Typically around 68g. I'm more of an upper 50g. now.
My wedges have FGS Vision + shafts in them and I think they're great. Haven't tried any of the FGS shafts for woods so it's good to hear you guys like them (in case I should ever decide to buy more clubs some day 
).

I have a high opinion of their FGS shafts (obviously). Their club components are all clones (except for their own DTG designs) so you won't get as many original designs as Golfworks offers. I've used the Turner heads and the DTG heads in builds for customers looking to keep the price down and the quality was good. You're not going to get Golfworks-level quality or design tech at DTG, but you will get good values. My $.02
So when I was playing the g400 max the regular Alta was an unplayable complete noodle. I switched to the ping 65 tour shaft and the club felt super heavy. I’m guessing the counter balanced shafts are key? Anyways after about $500 into that club I moved on I didn’t want to keep throwing hundred dollar bills at it til I found a keeper.

Ok, do you remember me talking about “muscle activation”? You guys might think you don’t have any muscle but you do… you keep active, you work on your shop, Steve is out doing yard work at the church etc…
So what happens is when you have a heavier shaft /club, your brain has your bigger muscles take over… because you’ve been active your whole life and you still do physical work. You end up swinging it faster. If the club is too light, your brain doesn’t tell your larger, more powerful muscles to engage… and you don’t swing as hard.
The only reason I know this is I started researching it when I saw my numbers ( Sarnella is listening!) and consistency get
better with a heavier iron shaft. I’m slower with a 105 gram shaft than I am with a 115. With an 86 gram shaft I was all over the place and no faster than with the 115 too.

I also have no problem when going from a 54g. to a 68g. shaft. And at 47", it really ups the swing weight.
And speaking of physical work.....my pecs are killing me from all this damn work I've been doing the past couple weeks! I'll prolly need XXL shirts this Spring. With ripped sleeves.
