Spuzz Too many "letter" grinds now.

I think all the grinds they're selling us on now is bullshit.

  1. It's over-thought and will get amateur players overthinking.
  2. NOBODY plays all of their golf on the same turf/lies. You'd need every grind depending on where your next round is.
  3. Good news, though- it DOES give you a new excuse for chunking it or nailing it right in the forehead. "Wrong grind".

          Eguller It is rare that I use a wedge over 25 yds., except for a PW or GW. A cast SW/LW just has such a harsh feel to it, even inside that 25 mark.

            Spuzz I'll have to go back and see what brand I was looking at a couple days ago, but I swear, they had a T grind wedge! WTF is that???😲

                Yeah, they offered a low bounce grind (L?) for years. Just a slightly different one. 🙄

                  I never used a SW until I was in my mid 20's (started when I was 12) and even then, it was my Dad's high bounce, fat sole and heavy Spalding that I put in the bag when I played a course with "fluffy" sand (which was rare back then)
                  Otherwise, it was a PW and open/close of varying degrees depending on what was needed

                    Typhoon Yeah, need to eliminate "first tee". Way too many swing thoughts happening in my life. Believe a course PapaD plays (Meadows Farm) has a practice first tee--I need this.

                            I love a heavily relieved leading edge on wedges. Cally has done that on this year’s Jaws Raw line. I want either the X or Z but would like to demo first. This is great for tight Bermuda.

                            I just did this to an old Golfworks wedge yesterday. This is 40 degrees bounce. Big improvement.


                            You can also see where I did a heel and trailing edge on it in the past. It used to be a blocky, clunky thing.

                              I literally cannot tell any difference in flight or distance from the stock Alta CB R flex shaft. Either the FGS is the value of the millennium ($9.99), or I'm such a geezer that shafts make no difference. That's my review. Don't hesitate to game this shaft.

                                I've been saying that for years. I still have some in clubs, gave some away that were given to me, sold some, and still have some new ones iirc.
                                You have to like a 'mid' weight shaft though. Typically around 68g. I'm more of an upper 50g. now.
