Sneakylong Brandel Chamblee made a good point yesterday. In other sports the player is paid before he plays. In his example Tom Brady gets paid millions of dollars and if he doesn’t perform for the team he gets benched.

I could see Reed going through with qualifying if it ever came to it, but not DJ. Agreed re the "Opens", if they've qualified they should get in.

Well, other than Dj and Reed how many really top notch players did the LIV get? None of them were at the top of their game before jumping. Plus I'm sure all the controversy is distracting. I could be wrong but most of these guys are pretty competitive I doubt they'll just quit trying. But there's plenty of guys in other sports who signed big multi year deals and just cruised through those years

Like every other main sport, the stars don't always get paid for how they are performing at present.
Most of them get paid for what they have done in the past and are "worth" now. Some get paid on potential right off, but those cases are not frequent.
LIV is the answer to that equation, for them. If they are pros, they will continue to put in their best efforts to perform.
It's up to the GM's to figure out which ones will start coasting, or are coasting, and cut them. Since we don't know what exactly the LIV contracts entail, it's all speculation and most of it drummed up by PGA shills to demonize the LIV players.
Tiger's presser was no different than all the rest. Just baseless and clueless speculation for the sole purpose of trying to put down the competition and keep the monopoly going.
The Tour guarantees nothing, other than if you qualify and PAY the entry fees, you get a spot and two rounds to try and qualify for two more rounds and a paycheque. They actually do not guarantee the competition in those events.

Derogatory statements aimed at guys who have sacrificed and built the Tours up over 20 years, who now want to get (over) paid for their services reek of jealousy, bitterness, underappreciation and thanklessness (among others) of those that came before them.

Wouldn't be surprised. I don't think it stand on it's own merits and actually be profitable. Well, especially with what they're paying guys now, obviously.
Don't know what happened, Brandell fell asleep, wires got tangled, or what, but saw an interview earlier with Bryson. On TGC, 'Live at the Open' telecast. 
I think it was from today, not last year. 
garyt1957 You could make an argument that Bryson is a top player, at least before the wrist injury. So if the wrist heals up, he could be back to form.
Koepka, similarly, has been off his game for a while, but it may have also been injury related. He is still competitive, and, if anything, was better this year than last, so moving, perhaps, in the right direction.
The other guy I'll make an argument for is Abraham Ancer. At his best he is competitive on any tour, and often does well, for example, in the majors.
