Putting best ever since I found my holy grail
Just reshafted my irons and have been throwing darts.
New wedges that are phenomenal.
Driving the ball better than I ever have.
I have Spuzz to thank for most of this since he identified a swing flaw. Ever since its been great. Shot a 38 last time out. Lowest score ever.
Can't wait for next year! Probably have improved my average by 4 or 5 strokes.

livegolf Been able to enjoy plenty of new to me courses this year!

We'll have to resurrect that old thread on FGI...how many courses have you played, in how many states? Another thought is a thread on naming your top 10 favorite courses. When the snow starts flying here....

The season isn't quite done here yet so I'll keep plugging away. Like the angler that goes back out for the 'big one that got away' or the hunter looking for that trophy buck before the season closes, I am going out to try and record that elusive ace.

My season is year round golf. I play three times a week weather permitting. The main goal for me this year was to just get out, get some exercise and enjoy the walk while playing some golf with my wife and friends. Well most of this went just as I planned, but our third player has had some medical problems and it looks like he is not only out for the year, but also for good. So it is now just the two of us which is fine, but this is the second of our foursome to drop out in the last six years. We have others players who will join us occasionally, but there are not many players who are not already in a group.

mikeintopeka Still at 48 states, I've focused more on playing within a couple hours of where I live to increase my course count. I hit 600 18 hole courses/facilities played in August so somwhere around 625 courses played if you add in nine hole courses and what I've played since.

I don't know that I've seen a favorite course thread at golfbuzz, so throwing one up wouldn't be a bad idea!

Not much golf for me this year - one round and one range session - after moving a couple of hundred miles south (work-related) in September last year. There are courses in the area, but none are particularly convenient to where I'm staying, and I'm not particularly keen on paying out for a membership (and joining fee!) when I'm not sure how long I'll be in the area... (I've also been doing quite a bit of running, which takes up a fair bit of my spare time.)

Season is year round here in Florida. Try to play 3 times a week. I fight elbow and neck issues which at times has shut things down for me golf wise. I play in a regular competitive Quota Game with the same group of guys. When you play that much golf you experience all the ups and downs of golf. Lows were in the mid 70's and high up around 90.

Yesterday was a typical round for me (82).

Typhoon Jeezus, 57 on a 70 and you want to add 7mph club speed... you headed to the senior PGA? That’s ambitious to say the least, but I dare say, not impossible.

I know I had more pop when I was at CrossFit with a 4 day a week strength program on top. I was absolutely destroying the ball at that point. I need to rediscover that motivation.

I played some of the finest military golf of my life, left, left, left, right, left.

I finally FINALLY slowed down enough to control shots on most days, but I played far too infrequently this year. When I got rolling, I played as well as I ever have and putt really well. That said it was more or less common for the first 4 to 9 holes to be a driving range session, followed by 10-18 being solid golf. I wish I had played more, I think I could have shot my best score this season, the putter was realllllly good, but I had a boat load of lipouts, very few three putts though, so overall, I’m happy.

My season was practically a re-start. After playing no rounds the previous two years, I played two 18 hole rounds and a half dozen or so 9 after work in the second half of this year. Not playing well, but hoping the frequency will continue to increase and that my game will come around. Glad to be back at it in any capacity. The layoff was voluntary, but not due to boredom with the game. Just more financial and time considerations with a busy family life. Still never likely to be a regular player unless I reach retirement in reasonably good health and financial status.

Deep south weather that allows year round play here if heat doesn't kill you in summer . Began playing nearly weekly and enjoying being outdoors. Afraid summer walk golf isn't possible much any more with declining health which I hated to lose. I thought I'd reach my goal of consistent play at low 90s high 80s but that's slipped back with ball striking from poor but hopeful to not even that. Must be my clubs.πŸ˜†
Played our monthly Retired Old Bastard$ geriatric geezer scramble twice and found a playing partner & new friends at local muni. Our flight tied for low score yesterday in spite of my part so that's good too. πŸ‘Œ

Did some reshafting for first time with good advice from fellows here which is kind of interesting and informative .
Looking forward to long fall hopefully and maybe trying walking 9 a few times with my Speed cart again.

After 17 years of pure golf fanaticism this is the year I fell out of love with golf. Maybe too much time spent playing or on the range, maybe age, maybe I finally realized after years of "hoeing" there is no magic bullet. Played very little this year due to terrible summer weather. Years ago I would have played in a hurricane but now soggy courses just turn me off.

My game is about where it's been for a few years now. Losing some distance, still scoring ok but feel I've taken the game as far as I can. I find playing the same 2 or 3 courses very boring now. Not very enthused.

I took the rest of the season off starting the beginning of August. Hoping a winter off will recharge my batteries for love of the game.

PA-PLAYA I shot as low as 82 (5 times) and as high as 109 (yep, 109, but just once). I'm fairly sure my 9 hole low was a +3, 38. Not too bad considering I played very little from 2010 until this past February.

My short game carried me. My putting and tee game could have been much better. I've been fighting shanks in my 6i to 9i lately.

Now, I feel somewhat inadequate. I've played something in the 60's. Found my logo ball rack while unpacking from the move.

I'm at 10 states (HI, WV, NJ, PA, TX, WA, OK, AR, TN, and VA), 1 U.S. territory (Guam), and 9 countries (U.S., Japan [Okinawa], Philippines, Germany, Turkey, Italy, France, Spain, and Belgium).

            DC300
I feel adding 5 mph is not a tough enough goal and 10 mph is not attainable before next season.

I've been reading up on the Superspeed system and have no problem doing it after Crossfit. Confident it's a step in the right direction. Age is only a number, keep on pushing.

livegolf Thanks, putting that rack together brought back many memories. Each course is memorable for its own reason. Some I've only played once, some a couple of times, and a few many, many dozens of times. I'm just glad I had the foresight to start collecting balls from every course I played when I started. I'm glad I played nearly a dozen while I was in Hawaii and already had a small "collection". I think I probably wouldn't have thought it was a big deal if I'd only played a couple of courses.
