Good season, went to a formally private club.that is now public, nice layout, challenging but fair enough where you can get around with a Good score. Nice course with enough flaws (poa annua in greens and gnats when warm) to keep it from being really busy....in this regard I can play a lot of golf and get the best of both worlds.
As to the game, solid, more consistent this year with less really low rds., But far fewer blow up rds. Trying to accept my limitations still to this day....has been a battle, but getting there, can't hit a draw with the driver, so on draw holes I hit 3 wood, which on my course means hitting driver 7 times (2 times driver isn't the play due to hazard and eof issues) that friggin drives me nuts, but scores have been better overall with a more conservative strategy.
Wedge play=inconsistent, lately lots of slightly thin and slightly fat shots, has killed some really good scores
Chipping/pitching=solid, no flop shots unless absolutely necessary.
This time if year I get to play some courses I otherwise would not; in the last month I have played-
Meadow Valley, the Irish, the River, the bull, Brown deer Park, Washington county, Brown county, fire ridge, royal St. Patrick's, thornberry Creek, wild rock....some more than once. Been a great month of golf, fall rules for golf!
