candukid Wow. You seem to have completely misinterpreted my post. I was merely asking questions in the hope of stimulating some reasonable discussion.

The fundamental concept is this: human beings, in general, are best motivated by rewards. This is a proven psychological fact. What kind of long-term success of a system can be expected if rewards are removed from the equation? What is the benefit of intellect and hard work? What is going to motivate people to do their best if the rewards of doing so are taken away from them and given to people who don't even try?

There was a bouncing ball to follow in rsvman's and my discussion. rsvman believes healthcare is not a right and argued why should he pay for other peoples healthcare. And, while I'm not espousing communism, your example of such is extreme. More talented and hard-working people, even in communist cultures often receive greater rewards and opportunities.                                 Having said that, I do think that the concept is at least somewhat antithetical to the ethos of many Americans, and further that there does come a point where the government takes too much of the wage-earner's money. I'm already north of 40%.

                                    Medicare is not currently 100% self funded. Part D is and was always unfunded, Part B is partially unfunded, est about 25%. Also about 10% of the people on Medicare are under the age of 65.

                                    Medicare is about 15 to 17% of the Federal Budget.
