I've been playing a golfworks Defiant with an aldila nvs 55R shafted at 46". For me it just reduces the distance loss on off center hits. I think I'm getting more distance but since I'm not that consistent I'm not sure. Since a brain tumor took me out of the game for a few years I would play with a non-conforming bag full of non-conforming clubs if I could and wouldn't give a rat's butt about it.
Non conforming drivers
Is there a "non-conforming" driver which produces noticeable advantage in distance ?
Or most of them are marketing slogans !
I would consider over 5% gain in distance keeping everything else the same qualifies.
govols Still at it after brain tumor
Play with any darn club you feel like using !
This world, the next, then the fire trucks
???
I don't know...
Release,do you want more distance? Get fitted. No need for a nonconforming driver, believe me.
Govols ,if there is a non-conforming putter I am ready to buy it if you can tell me where.
Balleszabal Not non-conforming but still is a great putter.
Believe me, I know the importance of being fitted for golf equipment.
I was asking if there is a real distance gainer regardless of conforming or not.
The upper limit with current technology and material at hands could produce a COR of .90 So is there a driver head close to .90 COR ? If so, anyone has experience with it ?

The longest non-conforming driver (it was never submitted) I have ever used was a TourSwing Infringer.
I finally retired my Infringer for one last adjustable driver vs 919 shootout.
With an Moi off the charts and non-conventional in shape, it should be non-conforming.
There is the TPF M80 , the Enhanced model for ss below 85 mph (I think) has a 0.90 COR but still I do not get any more distance compared with my legal drivers. However I have the impression that the Ryoma Maxima D1 (www.tourspecgolf.com) does fool the norm because both crown and sole are made of a propietary Ti alloy that flexes like paper.Great carry and incredibly unusual long roll.
I am aware of the overseas market for the non-conforming drivers.
Not ready to spend that kind of money for a golf club...... although I had seen what the equipment could do to boost the gofer's confidence.

Balleszabal Dechambo ? has non conforming putter he might let go cheap since USGA is on his a $$
Hit more fairways, your scores will drop.
So from what I gathered, most of the "non-conforming" driver heads are just... mostly hypes !
Okay back to work out so I could think that I'm 30 years younger.
