shokosugi I just love watching Bryson unleash the driver
I don't get this, at all. From you, or anyone else that watches the tournaments. Bryson is NOT the longest with the driver, on Tour. Day in/day out/every tournament, he is outdriven on many holes by others. They just may not be playing in his group when they do it, but they are still hitting the ball farther. EVERY tournament. Even JS has been hitting several in the 340 range & he used to only be a 285 hitter. That 340 is very much standard for Rory, and a few others.
Given, the 'stat' says he is the longest, which is bullshit, as they only keep track of 2 holes per round, 1 in each direction. But he is def not the longest overall, and, the ball has to be in the fw to count as a drive.
I don't think everyone is saying he is the longest. I think he's probably swinging the hardest as a percentage of maximal effort and not holding back, which is fun to watch. He may also be the longest in terms of carry yardage but not in total distance after roll. He also takes aggressive lines off the tee.
I think it's great what he's doing and he's must watch TV in my books and when he's off, he looks like a typical 10 handicapper, which is also fun to watch. He seems sincere and is doing things his own way and this is fun and interesting too.

Par4QC . Bryson is NOT the longest with the driver, on Tour
Then who is?
You need to do a little more research before you make that statement.
It's pretty easy to prove (for this week) just by going through the BMW stats that DeChambeau was about 15yds.
longer than the next longest in driving distance avg. and that was Rory and then Cam Champ.
PGA tour stats:
https://www.pgatour.com/stats.html
DRIVING DISTANCE

I gave you stats and proof, you provided nothing but your opinion.
Sure there was a piece in GD I think it was, that said if so and so really unleashed his
driver, he'd blow it by everyone.....again speculation and opinion.
Re: Finau, he and his brother Gipper were both pretty long as teens growing up here in Utah.
But I don't ever remember Tony's back swing being super long.
It's almost like he bunts the ball now 320.
