sdandrea1 I have the 8-AW, just ordered the GW (51 degree).

These are also the first strong lofted (43 degree PW) clubs I've owned that actually fly high and then bite for me. Could be the shaft is the perfect fit.

Jesus Christ… so there is a AW AND a GW??? They’re supposed to be the same club… gap wedge and approach wedge. That’s a new low to get a consumer to buy another club🙄.

Nice to hear you’re getting the height! As I’ve said before, but nobody listens, is even though the loft is low, the moi and weighting are designed to maintain the proper height. The thing too is like our game improvement qi10 irons, they are geared toward golfers that weren’t producing the speed to be able to get the proper height so we came out with a High Launch version.

Very happy for you!

Typhoon Probably not hitting it hard enough to hear the cli

That occurred to me, but my PXG and G400 irons were very "clicky". These are muted.

sdandrea1 I laughed way back when hybrids came out and people were adding shit left and right. I would laugh at needing a Gap OR Approach wedge back then too.

In that case I’d go 43 PW, 48 AW, 54 SW and 60 LW

      Yeah, but you're "you". I'm PapaD. 😉

        a month later

You can tell Papa D has snow… this thread got buried.

Let me say the new Ping G430 max 10 k is no better than the g400 max. Although not the same shaft… but still… not going to make a difference or at least much of a difference. I am eventually going to take the Paderson g400 adapter off and put the 430 on it but I don’t see it…

Ugh.......sad truth. I've got stuff to review too!

I stumbled across this video today……Bryson DeChambeau playing nine holes while using and reviewing Costco’s
Kirkland brand driver, irons, and putter…..! Interesting…..

fatshot Rick Shiels tested them all also.
A couple weeks ago he proclaimed the Kirkland driver as the best of 2024!!
He bases a lot on performance + cost, btw. And speaks to the average golfers & hackers.

Unfortunately, they don’t offer a senior flex (for old tightwads like me….!).

                sdandrea1 I know!

Sometimes we get surprises in the golf world.
Last season I used A, R, S, and even an X(1 round). Some I could feel loading, some not. Surprisingly, the balls hit would all go the same route & distances. I ended up using a lot of the R flex shafts, but at 46".
Result of the experiment was, at our ages, .....for the most bone jarring experience on a golf course, one would use an X flex. 🤣

                  Par4QC

I know. My TM Burner has an R flex shaft in it and I hit it the same paltry distance as my others. It just feels harsh on my arthritic hands. Wah, wah, wah......😭

PING G430 LST 9* Shafted with a Diamond Tour FGS Limey Driver Shaft.

This is more about the shaft than it is about the club head, it’s a PING enough said. I bought the shaft as an experiment to try in the driver and I am totally amazed how good this $12.99 shaft performed. I bought the R/S combo. Tipped it 1 1/2” instead of the recommended 1”.

Played 18 with it today, smooth feeling shaft that you feel load through the swing. Mid ball flight no ballooning flight at all for me. Even on toey hits I didn’t get any crazy snap hooks. In a nutshell it’s a very stable performing shaft IMO. Can’t go wrong for the price.
