Club review thread
I stumbled across this video today……Bryson DeChambeau playing nine holes while using and reviewing Costco’s
Kirkland brand driver, irons, and putter…..! Interesting…..
fatshot Unfortunately, they don’t offer a senior flex
sdandrea1 I know!
Sometimes we get surprises in the golf world.
Last season I used A, R, S, and even an X(1 round). Some I could feel loading, some not. Surprisingly, the balls hit would all go the same route & distances. I ended up using a lot of the R flex shafts, but at 46".
Result of the experiment was, at our ages, .....for the most bone jarring experience on a golf course, one would use an X flex.
I’m selling the G430 max 10k.

PING G430 LST 9* Shafted with a Diamond Tour FGS Limey Driver Shaft.
This is more about the shaft than it is about the club head, it’s a PING enough said. I bought the shaft as an experiment to try in the driver and I am totally amazed how good this $12.99 shaft performed. I bought the R/S combo. Tipped it 1 1/2” instead of the recommended 1”.
Played 18 with it today, smooth feeling shaft that you feel load through the swing. Mid ball flight no ballooning flight at all for me. Even on toey hits I didn’t get any crazy snap hooks. In a nutshell it’s a very stable performing shaft IMO. Can’t go wrong for the price.
Picked up a five wood used and didn't even notice the X-flex until I got it home.
Shouldn't work, but it does. It's one of the most reliable clubs in my bag. Go figure.
Bravopilot Yeah, same here, plus @candukid is a Canuck, so with the exchange rate, really just a young 42
So if I moved to Canada, I get younger? Hmmmmm....
sdandrea1
I don't remember that far back...
sdandrea1 Something to consider, too bad you just bought/built a new place.
sdandrea1 Canada has some cold places you can't feel anything. So, NO.

Today I hit the new TM Qi35 drivers, LS low spin model, core model and the Max. Didn’t not bother with the max lite. First time hitting them. Indoors on the GC Quad. First off, the “markers” on the fitting heads for the GC Quad worked perfectly so you got all the numbers from the head as well. Also, I did not use the same shaft in each head, I was too lazy to bother swapping. I can get a good idea without. Everything I hit was 10.5
LS… I don’t like the shape, never have… I like symmetry, this one still isn’t. That being said it was as advertised. Low spin… 1500. Hit the ground fast and rolled out to 265. Not accurate either.
Core…. Heavy weight in the back, same as the LS. This head is the same shape as the max which is symmetrical. So this head at address looks the same as the Max but the face appeared a tiny bit closed. Only realized it when I set it down next to the max. Other than that, identical. Hit this one fine, spin was still low like other reviews said. Spin ( 1800 rpm) was higher than the LS but low to the point where you could worry not knowing what you would get on a mishit. Distance was fine, 276 with carry around 255. Accuracy was about what I normally see when I play, nothing crazy offline but not automatic in the fairway. Seemed the same as my Qi10 core from last year, just looked better at address.
Max… This is the one. This one was was an improvement over last year. Last years complaint was it spins too much and you lose distance. No adjustable weights, Looked square at address. I had my best ball speeds, accuracy and distance with this one. Spin was at 2100, distance was 286 with carry of 267. Not much else to say, every ball found the fairway.
To summarize, the LS won’t be used by many. The Core model which, like the Qi10, is supposed to fit the majority, will fit a lot of people and having the interchangeable weights new this year is nice. But low spin in that model will be an issue. The Max is the one I see fitting most into. TM has fixed the “high moi distance loss” issue. It’s not any shorter than the others and more accurate. For me the best and highest numbers all around.
Sun is out, 55 degrees, DRIVING RANGE IS OPEN!!!!
Review:
Integra IDrive graphite shafts, both for irons and woods are industry sleepers. Holy Grail of cheap shafts (along with FGS).
Cleveland Launcher XL Lite and PING G400SFT drivers are the Holy Grail of straight hitters.
Acer XV HL heads are SOLID irons heads for high and straight. Chunky and offset, but it's like cheating.
Acer XV Pro irons are one the best mid-size player cavities in their price point. My Callaway Paradym Smoke HL are better.
Adams A2OS hybrids (4h, 5h, 6h) on the stock Aldila shafts are sleepers. They still compete with anything current.
Adams A2OS 3w & 5w. OMG, I'm putting FW metals back in my bag. Barney Adams was on to something.
Just a hunch, could be wrong, but my thoughts are there was drugs involved in the production of this review........

I know who has one with 2 shafts, headcover and wrench. It's a 10.5* and he bought it new. It's in really nice shape. Shafts are a Project X and the other is a Ping shaft both in stiff flex.
He just bought a 425 or 430 model Ping driver. He's all about Ping from woods, hybrids, irons, putter and bag.
Let me know if you're interested and I'll see what he'll take for it.
Hammer4413
Yes, interested!!
candukid
Just getting home and saw this. He's out of town till Tuesday but I'll try and get in touch with him before then if he'll answer his darn phone.
Don't you live in Canada?
How much do you think shipping would be from his home in Ringgold, Georgia? That's just over the line from Chattanooga TN.
Hammer4413
No rush..still months away from golf season.
USPS would probably be about $60-70
I would obviously pay all the shipping if the price is reasonable.
Thanks!!
candukid
I'll find out. It's a really nice driver.Plus 2 shafts. He keeps care of his stuff.
Hammer4413 I sent @candukid a 3W recently using PirateShip UPS from New Mexico, was $44. USPS was much cheaper, however at the time there was a stoppage for USPS due to some issue in CA. Now cleared and opened back up for USPS. Easy to get an estimate on PirateShip.
Sent you a private message on the G400 SFT....
