sdandrea1 we return to VA on Wednesday.

How was the turf interaction of the KE4 Max irons on the FL grass ? ..... or did I miss that ?

Eguller How was the turf interaction of the KE4 Max irons on the FL grass ? ..... or did I miss that ?

I brought the Hogans down here, left the Maltbys in VA. No matter, the Bermuda turf is up and fluffy this time of year here, so they would have been fine. The true turf test comes in Dec/Jan when things get tight.

sdandrea1 the Bermuda turf is up and fluffy this time of year here,

Ain't that the truth. Like night and day. Just that little cushion of forgiveness makes all the difference in the world.

Third round with the Maltby KE4 MAX irons. I have 7 - GW in the bag today. These continue to impress me. High straight shots that go a club farther than I'm used to are FUN! These are easily Golfworks' best KE component head to date. They look good in the bag too.

sdandrea1 I have to try one soon. I've got the KE4 Tour 4wood in the bag. Just hit a KE4 hybrid at the range yesterday and it might go in the bag after the upcoming tournament. I'm also looking at one of their wedges to replace my beloved, but getting worn, MD5 Wide sole/Low bounce 60*. Cally has ditched that option this year.

I've GOT to get down there and try them out.....next time I go to C'bus to visit our daughter and grand-daughters.
I could use a #6 iron to go with the Pings....!!!

Subsonic So how was the Zebra putter?

I used it yesterday and forgot to review! Loved the feel. Easy to roll the ball right on the intended line. It's smaller than my CrazE, so that took a little getting used to. The stripes make alignment easy. I made some nice putts and had some really good misses/lags. It's approved!!!

I used a knockoff of that putter for a couple seasons back when I was just starting to build clubs. I liked it
but then it was onto the next big thing I guess.

Final review of the Maltby KE4 Max irons.
I had them bent to 2 degrees upright from factory specs (not from factory "actual"). Lofts we're also bent to factory specs. Guy that bent them said the lofts were almost all withing 1/2 degree of spec.

Played 18 with them today and was hitting it pretty well. I had better contact and on-center strikes with the heads dialed in so it was awakening how LONG these are. These are DISTANCE irons! The downside of that for my game is they're effective for 4, 5, 6, even 7 iron shots......long and high. For scoring shots, 8 iron to GW, they're not so great. Distance control and green holding became an issue for me today. I airmailed a few greens with the 8 and 9 iron and had a few wedge shots that landed nicely and kept going. Could be the shaft and/or my swing, but for playing my best, the TE Forged or GigaGolf CB Forged will go back in the bag. If there's interest in buying these heads, let me know.

Integra Soooo Long Offset Panini. Get one!

Hint.....put a decent shaft in it. Sounds/feels good. Long as anything else in my hands.

sdandrea1 The early Nike Sumo square drivers were the worst sounding tin cans of all drivers. Many of the later squares sounded OK. They do have more miss room off the toe/heel with the square design but it does scrub off distance.

scotts33 I thought the Wishon 739 was pretty equal to the Nike. First time trying it was at a 2-level covered range and boy did it echo in there!
