I shot 39-36-75 today at Giant Oak Golf Club in Temperance, MI. It was about 42 when we teed off, and made it up to 49 when we finished…..bearable, thanks to no wind to speak of. Started out in ear muffs, cart mitts, etc, but were able to shed those things by the back nine. Note to self…..start scheduling tee times a little later in the morning…..10:00 or 10:30ish! 0 birdies, 10 GIR, 32 putts.
How did you shoot today at Golf
I played today. About 50* when we teed off and it only warmed up a few degrees. It was CPO but we had no one in front of us all day so we got around in just over three hours. It started to sprinkle just as I pulled out of the parking lot.
I did take two mulligans, so I won't mention a score but I did get two birdies which is very rare for me. I was making a lot more putts than usual from the 5-10' range. I wish I could hang on to that.
Shot 91 in the North Texas Senior Golf League, which was good enough for 1st in my flight. It was a volatile round even for me, with 8 pars and 4 triple bogeys.
We played Tour 18, a course a lot of the members had never played before. Many of the greens are tricky, with some severe slopes, so the field got beat up.
I got to play 9 today. I didn't bother keeping score. I also borrowed a buddy's clubs, as mine were at home for the last week. I played the forward tees, I was making good contact for not playing in a week, and new clubs. On the 1st hole, I flew the green with an 8 iron and ended up in #2 fairway. Hole 3, I flew the green again with the 8 iron. Hole 4, I hit the green with a 7, I first tried an easy 6 iron that punched through the breeze and promptly went ob. It seemed like whatever club I pulled, it was going further than I was used to. I tried his 4 iron, and for some reason I topped the 2 balls I tried. I pulled his 5 iron and was just off the green with a low fade on hole 6 from 200. On 8, I hit a 54° and hit the green just passed the hole. I dropped a 2nd ball to see if I could do any better. Same club, same green, 2nd ball flew the green. I played both, 3 putted for bogey on the 1st ball, 2nd ball was a chip onto the green, leaving a 10' downhill putt. I made the downhill putt for par.
I had some good shots, some bad shots, enjoyed the quick solo round. I need to get done with this project so I can go play more often. I miss playing, and it's only been a week.

40 degrees and a 20-25mph wind made for some distance loss. Into the wind needed 2-3 clubs more. Even downwind ball was not travelling , just normal distance. Definitely felt like Fall golf.
42/42 and we were done in 3 hrs.

Instead of starting a new thread, I'll just ask here.
For those in the know, how many rounds does your course get per season?
I ask because I just got an email from 1 of the better courses in the area, about an open house, their closing(not soon), and they mentioned an award (swag bag of Pro shop goodies) they give out every year.....Mr. 40,000. 10/27 they marked that date as the 40,000th round of the year, which began 2/22.
Seems like a ton of rounds, but it is always fairly full when we've played there, no matter the time or day of week.
Very nice course, fastest greens in the Midwest, perhaps.
Plus, living here and knowing how many courses there are and having played several every season, this is mind boggling to think all courses are doing this much business. I'm lucky as they are all within a 15 minute drive for me.

Last round of the season. Weather changing rapidly the next couple days and should be bringing some flakes. Courses in this area just flat close til weather allows in Spring, or before like last Feb.. 1 will have 8-18 open but FW greens.
Wasn't going to play until I saw weather reports, and decided this was the 'old school' day.
55* when done, but very little wind. Still really cool though and this course does not have windshields on carts. Got a bit wet with the drizzling, everything was playing soft from previous 3" of rain last week.
May be the most fun round I've played. Ever. And these 'tools' are why......all are 20-24 yrs. old, with 1 16 yr. old exception. The balls...well, just look at them. No using any GPS and hardly looked at any markers/sprinklers.
Launcher 400 has a Grafalloy Prolite 45
SMT has a Harrison Striper J
(Driver battle will have to go to SMT today.)
Didn't realize the Launcher 3wd was only 13*, but was a beast.
Did have 2 Snake Eyes hybrids, 22 & 28.
Nike CPR 21, and played like an 18 compared to the SN 22.
Irons are a TM Firesole clone that I've had for over 20 yrs., and still hit very well. (Precision shafts to keep 'old school')
Found a 64* Dunlop True Tech wedge I had never hit. I did very well, btw, which was amusing when it went only 12 yds., full swing & 40 yds. up.
Karma grips on all, except putter that has Winn.
Putter is an Austad's brass that I found for $1 22 years ago at Salvation Army. (I did have to regrip it) It does as well as any. At least for me. Had several 1 putts but did not keep track of any stats today. Also hit quite a few GIRs, now that I think about it. Missed very few FWs, maybe 2 or 3, and only a couple feet off.
Those ballsomg.
Dunlop Loco, Crazy Long/Scary Long.
Spalding Molitor, Super Crazy Long.
Spalding, plain ol', w/no special name.
Prostaff, which I did forget to hit.
Could not have been more surprised. They played no differently now as they did 20 yrs. ago. (none exploded, btw). Between the driver, the ball and the weather, they of course were not as long as anything today. But no squirrelly shots. Not really that much distance lost, esp. from the FW clubs.
Started just before noon, finished/in car at 2 sharp....'hurry up' golf(rain was coming quickly)!!
39/38.....77
Cannot report a score my home course pulled the pins and cups and filled em with sand. Darndest thing putting at a sand filled hole with no flag, I center sanded more putts in the last week than any other week I can remember. It freed me up a bit that is for sure
Hadn’t played for a few weeks. Planned on being done but a member asked me to play 9 with him today because it was nice out. Very lackluster… no focus.
Typhoon Loser, time to retire to Geezer status. Try left-handed and wear slippers. What i do when in a slump like you are now. Jus sayin
