Played in a scramble fundraiser today on a gorgeous country club in Suffolk, VA. Our four-man team turned into a three-man team, and so we had to take turns hitting an extra shot.

One of the guys plays twice or three times a year, at most, and his best score ever was 105. The other guy is about an 18, but sometimes hits some killer drives and he chips ok. The last time he played was two months ago.

I revamped my swing starting about 2-3 weeks ago and had only played 9 holes since the change.

We shot 62. I was astounded. Two of us were 'in the zone' for much of the round. My new swing was a stunning success. My new driver is the real deal, too. I hit drives that were easily 20+ yards longer than I have hit in years, and I only missed one or two fairways.

It was a really good time.

A guy I play BB with took me out to his club yesterday. Nice course but nothing special, but really nice conditions and really fast greens. I never got anything going at all and the greens ate me up to the tune of 41 putts! Switched to side saddle on the back and that was no better.
Ended up shooting 93. 2 lousy pars all day mostly because I couldn't hit a FW for some reason. Great day though and I do see the appeal of club golf.

Shot 79 with 10 greens and 32 putts. Very weird round that didn’t feel like breaking 80. Mostly because I botched the par fives pretty badly. But I played the 5 par threes in +1, so that’s what got me under 80. Our par threes are all tough.

First time using the TDY “build a bag” setup yesterday afternoon…straight to the 1st tee with no warmup or range time with them…

Managed to card an 89 at Gateway Hills (Lackland AFB) from the whites (70.6/120 6,406yds) with the 9 clubs…damn it was hot & schwetty 🥵🔥

6:50am tee time tomorrow morning at the Golf Club of Texas…

Shot 81 today. Lost 1 match but won another to come out ahead. Won a skin for some pro shop credit

Nice score but disappointed. Greens were fast and I kept getting it above the hole and 3 putting. I should have shot 76. I definitely found some more distance today.

braveheart It can stay with the rest of herd today quite well.

Concur…it performed pretty damn respectable during yesterday’s round…I don’t even know what loft it is…says HT on it…and the shaft is Prolaunch Blue 65R

DonM it was high 60s when we teed off for 8am shotgun. I think it hit 80. It was beautiful although fairly windy. Supposed to be 90s this coming week.

DonM Same here, been 90 the last couple rounds. (I've been told, by D-I-L, that I cannot play in the heat any more😄). Going to be close to 100 a few days this week.

Longest drives I've had in over 6 years. Makes me look bad using the front tees. But impresses the hell outta the 'kids'.(cart girl was nowhere around each time🤣).

Played yesterday. 81. But a damn good 81. Not sure why it wasn't 71.

Hit a ton of FWs, but again, few GIRs which I really don't care about. Only 28 putts with 1 (super rare) 3 putt.

Hit some absolute bombs with the new Smoke driver. Still getting used to the high launch of the irons, but distances are good with them; just need more. Every other club has taken on a new life, whether from the heat or something in my swing. More distance across the bag. Hit a 3wd from the rough on 1 hole and it went farther than my drive did; and it wasn't short! Told the guys yesterday, a few times, 'I can't hit this club that far, but I'm using it'. Then hit a couple over the green. Think I'm going to quit questioning it and just play.

Got paired up with some young fella. Played from the tips at 6800. Name must have been 'John"....shot around -5, with a couple bogies. Never mishit even 1 damn shot. A lot of those birds were from 1 putts under 5'. And he was complimenting me on some shots.😲

Long 5+ hr. round though. Got caught up behind an outing where we had 4 groups on 1 tee on #6. And the other 2 guys were ended up playing with were the slowest I've ever seen. Walked/carried like my long deceased grandmother might do.
