Got out for nine at the local muni right at the end of the eclipse. Weather was perfect. Play was very slow.
Last time I played I hit my new driver really well and my irons so-so. When I stepped to the first tee I had complete confidence in the driver and was a little worried about the irons. By the time I finished the round I was worried about the driver and confident with the irons. That's golf, I guess.
I did hit a couple of bombs with the driver, though, including one on the third hole. I felt that I hit it low on the face, but it still went a long ways, and rolled out forever, leaving me only 62 yards in to the green (hole is only 317).
I parred holes 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, but I ended with three consecutive bogeys.
I hope to get the driver figured out within the next couple of rounds. The good ones are really good. I'm probably trying too hard on the bad ones.
Edited to add: I can't believe I forgot this, but I actually made a ten footer for par on the last hole. The putt on 8 sat on the lip. So I didn't end with three straight bogeys. I had two, then I salvaged par on 9.
