DonM I have never, ever been on a winning scramble team.

My winning % is just barely above yours......

DonM I end up winning something so often that I can remember the times my team didn't win anything... maybe twice in the last ten years?

79 at Timber Greens. Had one birdie. The 5 wood and 9 iron were the stars today. Had the place to ourselves this morning because they were having the club championship later. Another nice cool dry morning.

sdandrea1 The program office I support used to have a golf day with nice prizes--until the lawyers woke up, that stopped--some teams would try to stack (I was on winning team twice)-once a team proudly announced they had a ringer, guy played on The Citadel golf team, we all said go ahead, get them all. The Citadel🀣

sdandrea1 I think these are fun. We had mulligans you can buy, string for putts--some teams said since they did not provide scissors, they never ran out. My teams wasted more time talking stupid strategy among us.

      No handicap teams.

Those are the fund raiser events you described. String, mulligans ,etc.

This monthly event is run by the pro. Everyone has to have a GHIN index and every team gets a scaled handicap using a declining % of each player's course handicap. One strategy is to get 2 very good players, one decent guy and a 4th with a mega handicap (20+).

sdandrea1 We had a few of those last year at our club. We somehow won a glow ball scramble late last year. No handicaps, but not many of our good golfers were playing. We had 2 guys that are +20 cappers that went crazy. Apparently playing golf in the dark with a glow ball and 3 clubs is their thing. I did almost nothing until the last hole, our #6 par 3, when I hit one close for a closing birdie.

I don't play many charity scrambles any more, but there's either a group with 4 pros that wins or a group with 4 cheaters.

75, 28. Nothing special or outstanding, except I was hitting an LD driver quite a bit. Not for me, even though I managed same normal distances.
Jake should kill this thing though.

I don't usually play on a Monday, but went out for 13 holes this afternoon because it's likely that my usual Tuesday group won't be playing because of the weather (the forecast is for heavy rain all morning). I wasn't keeping score, more just hitting some shots and trying a few things out - for example, playing a little pitch with my 60Β° wedge from short of the 12th green to the front hole position rather than the usual choice of putting up the bank (hit it really nicely, and left myself a tap-in - seems that I hit those shots well when I keep the swing loose and relaxed).

I also tried a couple of different shafts in my driver, using a Garmin G80 to get some numbers - the carry distance (a little over 200 yards on the good ones today) is estimated, so wasn't really looking at that, but the clubhead and ball speed are pretty reliable (pretty consistently in the 91-93mph range for clubhead speed once I was warmed up, with ball speeds in the low 130s). I didn't hit enough shots to be sure, but it seemed that I was getting a little bit more speed out of the Tensei Blue I was trying out compared to the Accra FX 3.0 that I've been using - the Accra is very consistent, though, so will need to do more testing with the Tensei to see if it's worth making the switch.

Got out for nine at the local muni right at the end of the eclipse. Weather was perfect. Play was very slow.

Last time I played I hit my new driver really well and my irons so-so. When I stepped to the first tee I had complete confidence in the driver and was a little worried about the irons. By the time I finished the round I was worried about the driver and confident with the irons. That's golf, I guess.

I did hit a couple of bombs with the driver, though, including one on the third hole. I felt that I hit it low on the face, but it still went a long ways, and rolled out forever, leaving me only 62 yards in to the green (hole is only 317).

            I parred holes 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, but I ended with three consecutive bogeys.

I hope to get the driver figured out within the next couple of rounds. The good ones are really good. I'm probably trying too hard on the bad ones.

Edited to add: I can't believe I forgot this, but I actually made a ten footer for par on the last hole. The putt on 8 sat on the lip. So I didn't end with three straight bogeys. I had two, then I salvaged par on 9.

Typhoon I did leave out the best parts.
CPO, which is something rare. We had rain Sunday, but that place must have had over twice what I got at home. Had I known, I would not have gone there. Standing water, sometimes even on the paths, when there are paths. Mudballs on every shot. So, L/C/P was order of the day, which was not advantageous at all. I had the wrong set of irons for ground conditions( sweeper here).
Then there was that wind. Supposed to be around 20mph or so, but that would have been just a 'breeze'. Temp was 64 when I finished and felt like low 50's. I dressed for the forecasted 73!!
And it is the only course we play that does not have windshields on the carts. WTF?

Nothing to brag about today.....played at Carrington GC in Monroe, MI, one of my favorite courses. I shot 43-42-85 on a really windy day. No birdies, 2 doubles (2 penalty strokes), 2 3-putts, and 6 GIR. We haven't been able to play for two weeks, and it shows..... I'll try to get out and practice over the weekend...lots to work on !!! 😞

Played in a different league today. Had to play the White tees. First round with the PXG irons. Hit the ball great and scored shitty. Hit too many bunkers that were in horrible shape.
            44, 42.

First round I have played outdoors today since the 31st of March. Also playing my backup irons that I haven't played in 4 years. Just to see if my swing is getting better as to irons, it is. Old set Aerotech steel-fiber shafts with Dynacraft Prophet CB heads.
3 putted the first two greens. 🀬. Shot 47 on the front. 41 on the back and had 31 total putts, so I got my head out of my ass after the first two holes. Different course than home with greens about 12 on the stimp.
Sun shining day with few clouds in the sky. The good man looking down at us and smiling. 😎

Had a few enjoyable rounds over the last couple days. Didn't score exceptionally well, but I enjoyed the rounds. I've been playing my little course irons only. Today, I went around at 5 over from the forward tees. From the back tees, it was 8 over.
I did hit some beautiful long irons on 4, and 6. On 4, from the back tee, I hit my 4 iron with a slight draw that ended up in the right rough and about 10 yards from the green. Chipped on, 2 putt par. Hole 6 from the back tees, I hit one, and saw it hit a tree on the right. Never saw it come down, so I hit my provisional. My provisional was a better strike and sent the ball high and along the left side where it hit a tree and dropped. Never found the 1st ball.
#6 hole from the blue marker is listed as 257 yards. It is not an easy hole.

This is the view down #6.

Walterjn Your tee boxes look like ours with the unreplaced divots. Only difference is ours are from people hitting driver πŸ™„

We moved the tees back on the first hole so we could grow grass . I can’t remember how many groups yesterday I had to tell to get off the bare dirt and tee off from the markers.
