USPS - the most dissed organization by posts made by members here. Quite frankly, I'm glad it's being addressed and it may take some radical measures before Congress has to write a great big check that goes into the rabbit hole.

It may be time when 1st class and other mail is only delivered to home and business addresses 5, or fewer, days a week. The vast majority of business mail isn't opened until the following Monday anyway. Get something in the mail Saturday at home that needs immediate attention? Good luck finding someone on the phone that can help unless you speak with someone in India, for example.

There will be no check, of any amount, until Dems are in complete control of the whole gvt..

We are spoiled. In every facet of life in the U.S.. We get what we want, when we want it, and companies make sure of it, for the most part. Any type shipping service is fast; it only takes 4 days from coast to coast at the slowest, some places 5 days (in normal times). USPS needs to start over, using what they already have. Do what they need to do to cut their costs while raising prices. Like any other company we might deal with, we will either buy their 'product' or go elsewhere; there are other methods available to all of us, as with anything we might purchase. We will get used to things not being here in a couple days, but why the hurry to start with? If they go out of business then, so be it. But to give them billions of dollars just to keep going down the same route is not logical. We're coming to a totally paperless society anyway, and we'll all be very happy not to grab a stack from the mailbox that all goes directly into the garbage.

How much does UPS or FedEx charge just to send a letter?.....USPS should be able to charge the same, so why do they only charge a few pennies?? Gvt. won't let them?? Does that make sense, or show who is to blame? Giving them money is not the way out; letting them be 'competitive' is. Then again, look at the idiots that decide.

Don't worry, Amazon already has an enormous fleet of vehicles and planes, and warehouse everywhere. We will still get 1-2 day deliveries. We just won't get any junk mail.

Mattyv I believe it is a ploy to discredit the postal service to mess with the mail in voting.

Bingo - you win the prize. Please PM your shipping address for the prize guaranteed to be
there in a few months if it doesn't get lost in process.

Yep...everything is just FINE at the good ole PO. See...... 45 miles from me and just sits for days. Wonder why ???

Eguller That appears to be a foreign shipment, from China, perhaps. Had one like that slipped in on me a month or so ago. I thought it was coming from inside the U.S. as far as the shipping time/method was stated. Color me pissed.

        azgreg I have an idea.

I'm sure you are on the right track. Grrrrr.

Eguller Any time I've got things from them it was a direct ship via UPS, no matter the package size. Prolly would have been faster had they come from China. 😁

I shipped a package Priority Thursday 13th to Clovis, CA, 160 miles away, expected delivery Monday 17th...damn m0therfuker!

Par4QC Any time I've got things from them it was a direct ship via UPS,

if they'd used UPS, I'd be testing those grips this weekend. We're now on 4 days sitting in the same PO.

          4 days later

I've got a package that has been sitting in a next door town 8 miles away for 5 days. Was shipped by ups and handed off to usps for final delivery. Its been sitting there since it was handed off.

FauxAmish I've got a package that has been sitting in a next door town 8 miles away for 5 days. Was shipped by ups and handed off to usps for final delivery. Its been sitting there since it was handed off.

There is hope. I had the same thing happen and today after 7 days, the 2 packages arrived. Except that
mine were 45 miles away...lol.........the only thing I can imagine is the they were low on the priority list.
" Yeah, just toss them over there - they were handed off by UPS "

It's getting bad to worse. Paying for UPS Priority 2 day and waiting 10 days for delivery seems to be the new norm.

Now I get it...with all the delays in delivery I now understand why the check from Fatboy..aka SMT has never arrived...this must be some kind of record!!

That would be UPS Surepost. Fedex has Smart post. Both drop off to USPS. Avoid both like the clap. Both have always been bad but worse now. Avoid vendors who use this or upgrade shipping if you have an option.

Placed an order from Golfworks(OH) on Sat. which shipped Mon., or at least they printed the label. Tracking was showing it not actually shipped until today. Just now, tracking shows it at the Des Moines, IA distribution center, which is the normal route to me. To me, this means it will leave there late tonight, arrive in the QC, and be delivered tomorrow. BUT, 'expected delivery' shows 'by Sat.". And I'd bet it sits there until late Fri. night until it comes here on Sat..

                Eguller
You were right. It finally moved and arrived at the local p.o. this morning. I guess 5 days was enough resting time.

Told ya so....local tour of all the derecho destruction, I'm assuming.

I mailed a set of irons on August 3 via USPS Priority. The buyer has still not received them. It's "In transit". He's pissed and I'm pissed. What in the hell is going on with the USPS? What should a seller do when the buyer pays for "Priority" shipping and this kind of shit happens?
