For a pro golfer the accusation of intentionally cheating carries big implications. Bringing up all the dirt on Reed's past etc was just piling on and character assassination and nothing more. He can have an opinion and express that, we all formulated our opinions on what Reed did, as many other in the media also did........however, he didn't stop and his continued attacks were petty and inappropriate for a person in his position.....especially in view of the PGA Tours ruling on the situation.

      Perhaps. All I can say is that at one point I was a Reed fan and now I'm really not and it has little to do with brushing sand away in a penalty area and more to do with his actions since then.

      Also much of what I heard Chamblee saying about Koepka (right after his 1st major) and Woods (after his "prime") is that they were not that good and likely were not going to win. That may not sound as bad as "cheater", but a sponsor is looking to back winners and a GC analyst saying these guys are NOT going to win is possibly impacting their sponsor dollars. You could have your lawyer send a letter even though it's only Chamblee's opinion......or you could go play good golf and win. Just my $.02 that I don't like the road Reed is taking. That said I think Chamblee needs to be knocked down a peg or 2 as well and maybe threatening a lawsuit will get him to dial it back.

        I find Brandel insufferable. All this talk about "not afraid to call players out" and "speaking his mind" really isn't my primary dislike about him. It's just that it's the only schtick he has. He's a one-trick pony. He used to be somewhat appreciable back in his early days on the network, back when he would talk about actual golf stuff that was informative.

        He carries a chip on his shoulder. He's surrounded by former players/analysts (David Duval, Frank Nobilo) who've enjoyed reasonably successful careers as players, and it's obvious that deep down he resents the fact that he was basically a nobody in his playing career. It's plain as day, and the only way he can compete with their veteran knowledge is by doing what he does - making a name for himself as the network's biggest shitweasel.

            I think you have to take a penalty stroke for every hole you played with the extra club................adds up quick.

                Here's what I found......I did not know this!

                "The penalty for carrying too many clubs in your bag is two strokes for each hole where a breach of the rule happened. That means if you have 15 clubs in your bag but don’t realize until you’re playing the second hole, you will receive a four-stroke penalty. Fortunately, the maximum penalty for breaking this rules is four strokes, so it won’t get any worse than that."

                    Agree 100%. If Brandon would even occasionally preface his remarks with something like, "While I realize that
                    Player A has enjoyed much more success than I ever did on the tour, here's what I THINK was going through his
                    mind on that shot" it would go a long way towards making what he says more palatable. I know he's gotten into
                    it on more than one occasion with both Nobilo and Duval on air b/c he comes off as just being a "know-it-all."
