How quickly we forget Tiger winning the Masters!

      Looking at the scores from those going out earlier and finished, or close to it, the course is there for the taking. One -5 and a -4 with one to go so far with many of the early players scoring better today. (The exception is Tiger +3 after 5). Someone is going to WIN it this afternoon by playing stellar golf and not necessarily is going to back into the Championship. Fasten your seat belts.

            The USGA somehow managed to NOT screw this US Open up,greens,course setup etc.
            all went pretty smooth.
            They should've promoted Mike Davis a long time ago,he had no business stetting up courses
            for their one tournament a year that usually turned into a fiasco.
            And props to Fox sports,I thought they did a stellar job of covering this event,especially going
            commercial free for the last hour or so.

            Great track,great tourny and a well deserving winner in Gary Woodland!

            Congrats to Gary Woodland.... deserving major champion winner, played some inspired golf this week. But most importantly, he seems to be an all-around good guy. I thought the interaction between him and Scottsdale Amy afterward was a great addition to what ended up being a memorable weekend for the both of them.

            And I'd be remiss to not point out just how cool this sport is from a classy sportsmanship perspective; between the fist-bump from Justin on the 17th green after Gary's phenomenal chip shot that he nearly holed, and then the number of fellow tour players who hung around to congratulate him afterward - as Johnny would say, Good stuff.

            Hard to get my head around the idea being that there's only one major left on the schedule this season. On to Royal Portrush now.

            And... it's been a long time it seems since I last saw a major championship won by a player sporting a Wilson golf cap!

            Also, congrats to Viktor Hovland for winning low-am and the new owner of the Open's new 72-hole amateur scoring record previously held by Nicklaus back in 1960. He finished the week -4.

            He joins Phil Mickelson and Matt Kuchar as the only three players to have won low-am honors in both the Masters and the US Open since 1990.

            His professional career starts next week, as he turned pro immediately following the final round today. He expects to compete in the upcoming next four events on the tour schedule, according to the tour's press release.

            It was nice to get to watch PB without having to endure the pain of the amateurs we are force fed in the PB Pro Am. I stopped watching the pro am years ago because of it.

            I was disappointed that scoring was so low, so atypical of a US Open where the goal is to have the winner shoot around par. However PB is a short course for these guys and no wind made it play relatively benign.

            Some great coverage angles from the blimp made PB look great. I was trying to decide where to go for my 60th in a couple years and now seriously considering I might just head to this area.

                It was a rare afternoon, not even a breeze.

                  I also liked the occasional look from the drone they used. First time ever to see the oceanside holes from above the bay looking back at the coastline.

                  On Saturday, when the drone footage was rolling, in the corner of the screen you could see a mast from one of the yachts come into view. Surreal.

                    Great win by Woodland. All those final guys made some unbelievable recovery shots from trouble. I actually like seeing the course a little more playable than the usual U.S. open setup. Now if only they would stop all these dillholes from yelling, I might watch more PGA than just the majors.
