  • JB Holmes - what would you have done?

LBlack14 f they do go to a shot clock, it better be used on the greens as well. That's where I get red assed. Putt the fucking thing would ya!! Geezus H Christ!!!

And make alignment marks on the balls nonconforming. The pro's spend too much time aligning that mark on an 18" putt. What makes it worse is that the public hacks see this on TV and do it on the course as well. 😡

PA-PLAYA He needs to address his slow play.

He won't. The only one that ever has, to my recollection, is Kevin Na. And I think it killed his game.

I think Sergio did. When he first came on tour he did the regrip on his clubs ad nauseum at address. Not sure what got him cured of that.

Rickochet I would like to see JB's comments about all of this.

He said he was still trying to win!

Sure didn't look like a winning layup to me.

Par4QC He said he was still trying to win!

He was trying to make a winning decision. Turns out it wasn't the winning decision. Shit happens.

PA-PLAYA Again, I ask the question... did you or did you not tune-in?

        And if not - why?

Well, I worked 10 hrs. Sunday. But did tune it a bit at work, just a few holes here and there, to see how TW would finish. Now, I'm not saying everyone was taking way too long, but on 1 tee, TW and his group waited 23 minutes to hit. Then to top it off, I last saw TW tee off on #8(his 17th hole). I got home a bit later, maybe quite a bit later, walked into the living room and the wife was watching TW. I told her it must be a tape delay because an hour ago he teed off on #8, and he was just now waiting to hit his second shot on #9!!

Did I mention the fact that they went off in 3s on both 9s?? That always speeds things up. So I hear them say.🙄

Not saying, again, they were all playing with their dicks, just maybe each other's.

This is why I quit playing tournament golf. Not because someone was playing with my dick, but because they were slow. I mean slow playing. Golf, not with my dick. No one touched it. Well, I did, but I had to pee.

PA-PLAYA Getting up very early, going to bed very late, and just tired. lol...

How's my world feel? Been doing that since 11/5.

Forget the shot clock, a swift kick to the gonads will do....JB best get a cup, although given his layup, he only needs a peanut shell!

Par4QC not with my dick. No one touched it. Well, I did, but I had to pee.

Well Rex, did you use an interlocking or overlapping grip?😜

            DON"T ANSWER THAT!!!

Rickochet He was trying to make a winning decision. Turns out it wasn't the winning decision

Probably because he took so damn long. 😉

Par4QC This is why I quit playing tournament golf. Not because someone was playing with my dick, but because they were slow. I mean slow playing

The last scramble I played in was 6 1/2 hours in the afternoon on a 95° and humid day. Never again.

            IMO JB was Slow....

Will be interesting to see how his fellow pro's treat him. So far I haven't heard one of them justify JB actions.

Interesting Sergio did his regrip, not even close to JB's time and he got roasred.

Martee “I have J.B.’s back all day on that situation,” Thomas said. “If you put me in 18 fairway and I need an eagle to win the golf tournament or to have a chance to win the golf tournament, I mean, I knew the exact position he was in, and I would do the same thing.”

                Par4QC
I think I saw where Jimmy Walker said "you keep on being JB" or similar.

Martee Interesting Sergio did his regrip, not even close to JB's time and he got roasred.

Sergio got roasted because he did this on every shot. JB is getting roasted for a 3 minute delay on one hole.

Rickochet JB is getting roasted for a 3 minute delay on one hole

JB just reminded everyone how slow he always is by what he did on one hole. He'd not get this much flack if he was usually a faster player. Are you his agent or something?

                  Rickochet

You keep referring to "one hole". JB is notoriously slow, this isn't a one time incident. He was slow the entire back nine on Sunday.

                  This isn't a one shot problem. It's a habit.

This thread isn't about him being slow. It is about his slow decision process on hole 18 last Sunday. It has turned into a JB bash as a slow player. I have not been defending his day to day pace of play. I have just been saying that he is being unjustly grilled for taking a few extra minutes for a very important decision on hole 18. I have probably posted this a dozen times in this thread. If you have been following this thread since the first post you will see that.

Section I - Etiquette; Behavior on the Course

Play at Good Pace and Keep Up

Players should play at a good pace. The Committee may establish pace of play guidelines that all players should follow.

It is a group's responsibility to keep up with the group in front. If it loses a clear hole and it is delaying the group behind, it should invite the group behind to play through, irrespective of the number of players in that group. Where a group has not lost a clear hole, but it is apparent that the group behind can play faster, it should invite the faster moving group to play through.

                      Be Ready to Play

Players should be ready to play as soon as it is their turn to play. When playing on or near the putting green, they should leave their bags or carts in such a position as will enable quick movement off the green and towards the next tee. When the play of a hole has been completed, players should immediately leave the putting green.
