Quick Corb Lund story and then I'll go find something to post. He was playing in Austin a couple of weeks ago and announced that the next song was "weight of the gun". People clapped. He was kind of floored that people in the crowd knew it. Our local Americana station's been playing it for a while.

Here you go Steve. Meet the Old 97's... been around for a long time. I think this song gives their opinion of your opinions. Ha ha ha
Not new but one heck of a songwriter:
OK one more for now in the newish catetory, Lake Street Dive
And a long time local, Alejandro Escovedo
What else ya' all got?
A little James McMurtry. More of a singer/songwriter. But this is one of his most famous songs.

Pike..........That is what I used to say about Mad River, Quick Silver Messenger Service, Illinois Speed Press, The Illusion and Taste (Rory G.) But, it turns out that some break out with or without the group. But, the player or players that have the talent they will MOST CERTAINLY get noticed. What was considered Cult blazes into Glory!
Now...what else ya' got?
How about some Hayes Carll?
Todd Snyder:
Aaron Lee Tasjan (make sure to finish this one, great story here):
Seeing Hayes Carll Friday, or is it Saturday, at Old Settlers Music Festival. Rodney C. is Friday.
Hey Bango let's see you post some tasty tunes and see what you can bring to the table!
Just like he can't find his camera? LOL
Hayes Karl and Bonnie.........Just terrible. No stage presence in the least. They have played wayyy too many small town bars.......and they perform like it.

Todd Snider..........Interesting song writing for The Kingsmen. BUT...He is a poormans Neil Young with a bit of Dylan thrown in (badly) I might add).
Will review Aaron tomorrow.
Bangoman is the Lester Bangs of Golf Buzz -
rob ;-)
'Nough said ;-)
Bill Nelson and the Gentlemen Rockers..........Soon to be playing at a local Pub near you......and that's about it.
Oh Steve, Steve, Steve, you just listened to one of the best guitar players on the planet.
Granted he is not a Joe Bonnamassa (yawn) nor a Jonny Lang ;-)
He has a catalog of songs and licks they can only dream of.
Guess that I am gonna have to go to my local Starbucks to hear this guy ?
