New Music thread...
Now I really like that.
A hint of Bob Wills and some Coonass Music blend thrown in.

Lots of people love The Beatles. I personally think they are overrated.
You lost me here. Their first songs were to get into the rotation, but everything they did from 65-70 was awesome. Sgt. Pepper and Revolver are in the team photo for greatest album ever.
Brutally honest here:
Elizabeth Cook better find another line of work. Just horrible. The others sound essentially the same to me...terrible. If your going to sing country you better have song writing abilities if your just another group or performer. Put up some acts that will move me with talent. I am not into catchy possible one hit wonders in any kind of music.
What else ya' got?

And Pat...don't take it personally...anyone for that matter. Be like Rob and explain why any one person or group is exceptional IYO. Just like IMO. I am extremely passionate about music...more so than golf. If I had to do it over again...I would have gotten into the business or producing side of the music biz. In the next lifetime look for me to be there instead of here. Justin...when I go.....start a music site. Just in case...LOL
Maybe Bango will like a little Mike Farris

Watched the Mike Farris vid. This guy is outstanding! Just enough Al Green and Sam Cooke thrown in his voice without trying to sound Black. He is a natural Very impressive. Needs just a bit more stage presence...but, that will come with time. This guy could make it big and last. I would bankroll this talent. Glad you turned me on to a White Soul Brother that can actually sing without forcing it! Never heard of him before.

He's been around a long time.
Won a Grammy last year I believe.
Mike used to be the front man for the Screemin' Cheetah Wheelies, caught them as a "warm-up" band at the
Coach House about 15 yrs ago.
Here's the Cheetah's with Joe Bonamassa

Bangoman the funny thing is, those artists I posted have been around for a long time and they are making it in the industry. Ray Wylie is the one who wrote Up Against The Wall Redneck Mother, made famous by Jerry Jeff Walker.
Elizabeth Cook is a favorite artist of Jay Leno. He had her on his show a few times and she hosts a radio show on SiriusXM Outlaw channel 60.
As for Mike Farris, the guy is great. True story... his former band, The Screaming Cheetah Willies opened up for Skynyrd and ZZ Top at Phillips Arena on the 2nd night the new building was open. My friends and I thought they were absolutely horribe. Last year, I heard Mike Farris on the radio. He sounded familiar so I looked him up. Turned out it was the same guy... but he has now gotten clean (dark days of drugs, etc in his past) and gotten saved. Interesting how the same artist can be so different.
Another one I really like is Will Hoge. Been around forever but doesn't try to fit a "popular" mold.
Quick Corb Lund story and then I'll go find something to post. He was playing in Austin a couple of weeks ago and announced that the next song was "weight of the gun". People clapped. He was kind of floored that people in the crowd knew it. Our local Americana station's been playing it for a while.

Here you go Steve. Meet the Old 97's... been around for a long time. I think this song gives their opinion of your opinions. Ha ha ha
Not new but one heck of a songwriter:
OK one more for now in the newish catetory, Lake Street Dive
And a long time local, Alejandro Escovedo
