Super bowl Who ya got?
propman
It was just that - talk. And, those stupid loud voices on the far left were simply amplified to the level of daily doses of Hype by our shitty media outlets - all of them, in some way shape or form. Still, some are better than others.
There's never been a de-funding!
propman The overcrowding of prisons is just more reason why criminals walk early.
Why does the United States incarcerate more people than any other nation by a huge margin? That's the problem. You're talking about a symptom. Then again, have you ever done any research on prison reform?
Police officers most dread dealing with adolescents (especially those with guns) and domestic disturbances. Their top two!
I spent over 40 years in the juvenile justice system and mental health. I've got a little bit of knowledge and experience.
Rickochet You may have misunderstood what I was posting about. The 328 vacancies reported was the current official total. The current administration that is pro defunding police also had eliminated 100 other vacancies so instead of 428 actual vacancies the official total now is 328. Did you not understand this or do you just like to argue about shit?
Nope You're not reporting on the St. Louis situation accurately. You're cherry-picking it for your talking points. The biggest issue in St. Louis is a major financial/budget problem. Folks aren't lining up to be police officers. It's not worth it. Beyond that, I do not support that de-fund the police bullshit but, I also know how to assess politicized issues like the mess they've got in St. Louis. At the same fucking time that they've got such lax gun laws?! Stop looking for scapegoats, putting band-aids on symptoms, and misrepresenting complex problems with inaccuracies.
Rickochet I think this thread was about the Super Bowl, no?
No, you forgot. It was about "ho's" like Taylor Swift.
Rickochet Professor, when a thread gets off track why are you always in the middle of it?
Am I in the middle before or after it goes off-track? Pretty sure Sneaky added a comment in this Super Bowl thread about a mass shooting. Why am I in the middle of it? Because I don't like to read bullshit and make believe it's accurate. What's your reason? Thoughtless comments you don't want to own? Example: I watch (read) you validate Par4QC's piggish comments, as if that's okay and even humorous.
professor Because I don't like to read bullshit
For your simple mind, I'll put this simply....DON'T FUCKING READ IT!!
Yet you do.... then feel the, somewhat, dire need to make disparaging comments about the posters.
Slut would have been the more proper/true(by definition) word, but that just seems so nasty.
Par4QC Slut would have been the more proper/true(by definition) word, but that just seems so nasty.
Which makes you a cunt. You got a daughter? You got a wife? You got a mother? Who are you to judge?
Rickochet Professor, when a thread gets off track why are you always in the middle of it?
Perhaps a better answer is that I have the decency and desire to speak truthfully about what I think and feel. If you don't like that, it's not my issue.

I’ll post this again. Again, ‘defunding the police’ is a talking point that is a myth.
Busting the ‘Defund the Police’ Myth
“Despite Republican claims, police in the largest Democrat-run cities have not been defunded. Despite the rhetoric, Democrats are the ones who have placed an emphasis on funding law enforcement. The rest is just a political myth.”
“Republicans have spent the past two years accusing Democrats of trying to defund police departments. But the facts show that the police have not been defunded. In fact, not only have Democrats put more money into policing since fiscal year 2019, but they also spend more on policing than Republican-run cities. Here are the facts that disprove this myth:
Democrat-run cities spend more money on policing than Republican-run cities, with the 25 largest Democrat-run cities spending 38 percent more on policing per capita than the 25 largest Republican-run cities.”

Yeah, this is a thread on the Super Bowl. But yesterday in Kansas City there was another mass shooting that ruined the parade to celebrate the Chiefs Super Bowl win.
As we can see by some of the posts some want to keep their head in the sand and deflect why we continue to have mass shootings. We’ve normalized mass shootings / gun violence. We blame myths for this uniquely American phenomenon.
Again, no need to worry. By the time this thread peters out they’ll be more mass shootings. And we’ll continue to accept this as a normal thing and use scapegoats to make some of us feel better as to why these mass shootings continue to happen.
So yeah, move it out of sight / out of mind to the water hazard so we’re not reminded how we are such a sick fucking country to continue to not do anything about this sick perverted fetish this country is addicted to.
Mass shootings / gun violence should be like vaccines and treated like a public health / safety issue.

Par4QC Yet you do.... then feel the, somewhat, dire need to make disparaging comments about the posters.
That's not accurate. I more have a tendency to question a poster, in this case you. How many sexual partners make my daughter a "ho", in your judgmental terms? I asked the question. The answer is none of my damn business. You might figure it out one day.
"Slut is an English-language term for a person, usually a woman, who is sexually promiscuous or considered to have loose sexual morals. It is predominately used as an insult, sexual slur or offensive term of disparagement." Yeah, you be the judge on what other's morals should be. Got it.

And, again for those misinformed and ill-informed, there's factual data that indicates that African-Americans are even more in favor of a greater number of police officers in their urban communities. They want safer communities too. Too many Americans have little understanding of the connection between poverty, education, and crime. And, their authoritarian response simply targets symptoms and not the root cause of the problem.
Sneakylong Mass shootings / gun violence should be like vaccines and treated like a public health / safety issue.
Sneaky, that was well-stated and just accurate! Per usual, I can't help but cringe with regard to your last suggestion. Par for the 'vaccine course'? We know where that will end up. Interesting that those who fall in the short-sighted and allegedly 'more-informed' camp will land on this issue as well. Hey, at least I tied my comment to "golf". LOL
I never used to even think about the possibility of gun violence happening to our family at outings. Now..........

Unfortunately you have think about it. It’s human nature to think it can’t happen to me though.
Yesterday a mother and her adult daughter were interviewed after the shooting. The mother said this was her second mass shooting experience.

A friend of mine, ex-military, a while back asked me a rather pointed question. He expressed curiosity as to why there had been hardly any press or follow-up on the massive Las Vegas massacre. Happened in 2017 and there was massive amount of carnage. Why was there limited media reports and/or follow-up about it?! My friend was insinuating that there was some degree of cover-up.
