Is this little snippet of your knowledge before or after defunding the police? I've got friends who are police officers and detectives. One won't typically just throw out blanket statements like yours without a level of insight into the complexity of the situation. Maybe I have some? Why do we have prison over-crowding? Why do we have professional prisons? What goes on in the corrections industry? What did the "war on drugs" do to people of color being incarcerated for status offenses? What products are produced, for profit in our prison industries? Who gets the money?

              Police officers most dread dealing with adolescents (especially those with guns) and domestic disturbances. Their top two!

The current administration that is pro defunding police also had eliminated 100 other vacancies so instead of 428 actual vacancies the official total now is 328. Folks aren't lining up to be police officers. It's not worth it. Beyond that, I do not support that de-fund the police bullshit but, I also know how to assess politicized issues like the mess they've got in St. Louis.
