At your funeral/whatever-ceremony, when that time comes, hopefully many years down the road

Who do you want to give your eulogy?
What do you hope they would say about you?
Would the former be true if they did say it?
What do you absolutely hope they would NOT say about you? Or embarassing/funny story to not tell?
What music would you want played?
What kind of repast food(s) would you want served?

You're dead, you don't care about any of the above. Let your next of kin do whatever the hell they want to remember you.

    My wife is very religious. I’m not. I want to be cremated and dumped somewhere. Preferably a golf course, soccer field (I don’t think an ice rink would work, lol). I don’t want to be in an urn on a mantle.

      I would want people to say that I was funny, smart, and kind. Maybe that I was a decent dad/husband and a good doctor. And all that would be true most of the time.

      I would want some baroque music played. Maybe Sheep May Safely Graze or Since by Man Came Death from the Messiah. If they eat, they should eat food that tastes amazing but is bad for them. Maybe sliders, shrimp poppers, french fries, soda.

        I'm quite close with my daughter. She's soon 38, the mother of two. She shared a beautiful article, written by a woman wondering aloud as to why we wait eulogies for after a loved one's death. In her case, she was discussing her father. My daughter subsequently sent me a 'draft" of her eulogy. I'd highly recommend the practice of such...
        Think about it, wouldn't you always want those you love to know why... the details... from their perspective?

            What do you hope they would say about you? That it's not about me, and to help point them to the Path established by God to the eternal life through His Word.
            Would the former be true if they did say it? No. Much of the way I've lived my life was about me, but they haven't seen the worst of it.
            What do you absolutely hope they would NOT say about you? Or embarassing/funny story to not tell? Don't care.
            What music would you want played? Voice only hymns collectively sung by those who wish to join. Our God, He is Alive. It is Well with My Soul. Lamb of God.
            What kind of repast food(s) would you want served? A potluck of home cooked foods for the family.

            My wife and I are going to be cremated and our ashes spread somewhere. My family has some plots up on the Cape if we wanted to go there. Cheapest way possible. We're not religious so no funeral etc..

            Contrast that with two of my golf buddies who just spent ~ $36,000 each for them and their wives to be placed in a mausoleum. I jokingly told them they needed to have their head examined.

            They're going to be close to the mausoleum that Yankees owner George Steinbrenner is here in Pasco County Florida. They're both Rays fans. lol

            One of them told me he didn't want to be cremated after hearing from someone familiar with cremation and what happens to the body etc.. I said what do you care, you won't feel a thing, you're dead. lol

                  Maybe a little late to the party but here are my observations as a cemetery caretaker. We are trending towards 90-95% cremation funerals. We have several options for burials here - full plots, cremation plots, mausoleum and columbarium. From what I’ve seen over my time here is that the full casket burials are mostly the older, catholic generation. The people that adhered to the traditional no cremation part of the church teachings. The boomer? generation has moved to cremation and are still buying a full plot, but using it as a family plot (5 sets of cremated remains in the plot). My wife and I are going to be cremated and I’m looking at the columbarium for our remains.

                  As with what others have said, including the most recent poster. I (granted I don't spend all my free time researching trends in death rituals) had no idea society was moving away from the wasteful full burial towards majority cremations.
                  Glad to hear it for various reasons of economics, environment, superstition, etc.

                  I know they can turn cremated ashes into diamonds now. I wonder if they could turn you into a golf ball or two ?

                        Just completed updating "My Last Wishes",

                        • Cremated (probably a bit morbid but have urn and paperwork prepared)
                        • Interned in Arlington National with full honors
                        • Requested the Family get to gether for a 5 star meal
                        • One toast, with the finest scotch they have (please no mixing)
                        • Finally all to celebrate life, have a lot of good laughs and enjoys life and yourselves
