What’s a crappy swing? Who cares how it looks. Can they shoot a score?

Sneakylong I think his swing looks fine and repeatable....it's the rest of it that's questionable. 1 range session and a round is squat in the grand scheme of things....not saying he is clueless but for someone reviewing equipment he sure checks some of those boxes.

ode there did seem to be a few heavy or fat iron shots as well as one drop kick tee shot. It was fun to watch though.

Sneakylong I watch a lot of his videos (being he’s local). ‘Terrible swing’ is subjective. How it looks on video means nothing. He can play. Usually plays a draw. Like many good golfers he has his own swing that he can repeat.

      Well said.

Again, I’ve seen a lot of his videos. For me he comes across as genuine. But for some here to judge his swing and credibility off of watching 2 minutes of a review because they don’t like his review is ridiculous.

Have any here hit these irons? What’s their review? If he had given a positive review would they have said his swing is fine and that he gave a great review.😏

We know what’s going on here. They didn’t like the review so let’s criticize him and his swing. But to judge him and his swing on a snippet of one review is disingenuous.

As for only one range session and one round on the course. When I try irons I generally know pretty quickly if I like them or not. And again, these irons are not made for me. So I would not be a good judge if these are good or not.

Sneakylong I have only hit the KE4 Max and concur with what he says about them...I personally do not like the hollow body irons, at all, the ones I've played feel terrible on off center hits....and I see no performance advantage to them vs. a traditional cavity back. If he thinks the goo filled stuff he's reviewing is on spec from Costco, Giga Golf, Golfworks, Takomo, etc. he is sorely mistaken. As someone who plays 150+ rounds per year a ~ 8 mo. season, I can say without a doubt that 9 holes is not enough, not even close to get a sense of a product. In that respect it's not a helpful review. He mishit many of his shots and had a poor ball striking round, that I can identify with. Being a dew sweeper, the ball has a tendency to squirt and jump a little with less spin.....and his description/sense of distance is WAY off...."18 yards" short on the par 3 that he hit the intentional fade and he takes 7-8 steps to get on the green. He's not accurate in what he says! I've seen it multiple times when he's describing distance on and off the green. Count the steps when he describes how far away he is and it's WAY off!

SMT Trevino got me into golf.

Met him and he is one of a kind. Said that anyone who tried to copy his swing was making a big mistake. Called his swing a ‘push fade’ to keep it on line & where he was looking (in his prime).

Sneakylong Look at Scottie Scheffler’s footwork. Hows that look on video? If you knew nothing of him would you criticize his swing because of his weird footwork?

No, because I know what to look for objectively in a fundamentally sound swing, which all the players you mentioned have.

I would also like to know if anyone in this thread has played these irons. I’m considering purchasing the components to build a set. Stronger lofts are appealing to me because I have to hit mostly off my right leg due to an old injury. Traditional lofts tend to balloon and spin on me. These look great, and I stumbled on this thread while researching them. Has anyone gamed them?

Arguably, the same thing can be said for "rating" a set of irons after hitting only like 4 of them in 8 holes.

Eguller He always looked like he was indeed, pushing the ball. I loved it though

Opinions are like ass_oles.....everyone has one. Maybe this guy reached out looking for free stuff to review and it didn't work out. Anyway, I never really watched much of his content. I think youtube "influencers" are lame in general.

SMT In a normal round, I may only hit 1 iron out of the bag, besides a wedge(ok, so it's an iron😆). But when I put a new set of irons in the bag, I will make sure I hit a few of them, even if it costs me. The vid man was only concerned with a score, if he was not utilizing all the irons during a 'review'. I've only seen a couple of these fellas that will do a 'proper' vid review. This fella is not one of them, and I have watched a few of his. He's too f'n nervous/hurries, to start with!!

I was also amused when he told of the shafts he chose, TT Score LT. "Value & Quality". 2 things I've yet to see in TT steel shafts.

              jmo's, of course

Par4QC Seniors in general don't use as many irons as longer clubs. Always wonder why most seniors don't go to every other iron or 6 deg. to 8 deg. loft gaps and 2 wedges. Driver, frwys and hybrids are more important to seniors distance challenged than irons. ☺

Par4QC hahaha, and like he said in his video.....

                  "Thank god this putter s

"Good thing I have this putter to save the SMT irons."
                  hahaha
