That concept of the elite 18, dumping non-profit seems counter to the PGA Tour being the ultimate. I must be missing something, limited fields, no cuts, high ranking points, sounds like the expanding of the WGC events, Heck not it down to 54 holes and call it LIV Golf.
I think the PGA Tour is worried that they are about to take some major hits in the court cases.
Martee I'll put this question to you, as you may know; I do not know anything about such things....
If the PGA gives up their non-profit status and goes the private equity route, trying to stave off the LIV Tour poachings, are they not then susceptible to a 'take over'....by people with billions of $$, much like the private equity firms are known to do?
I'm sure someone here knows how such things work.
According to a report by The Fire Pit Collective, these elevated events would feature purses of $20 million. However, according to multiple sources inside the Wilmington meeting, the report that the Tour would renounce its tax-exempt status and the report that the Tour would plan to privatize and sell equity in the new venture were inaccurate. Those topics were not discussed, according to sources inside the room.
This is good. Always liked/respected this man.........

Heard the interview that Colt Knost and Drew Stolz (Gravy and the Sleaze on PGA Tour Radio) had with Davis Love where he said similar things he says in the article. He’s a very good spokesperson for the PGA Tour.
Par4QC Well, what do we expect to hear from someone that has already got $45M+ in the bank from Pro golf, nearing 60 yrs. old? To be sure, all the 'old' guys do not feel the same, with their $3M banked after playing 20+ yrs., and winning a lot of tourneys.
I expect the same from all of the golf elites and he is no different.
Never been a fan though. He's too light in the loafers for my liking.
I won't hold that against ya

Par4QC DLlll was about as big a choker as they come. Not interested in the opinion of a guy who has no chance of getting an offer from LIV anyway. I can respect the opinion of Justin Thomas because at least you know he could have gotten a big offer. Nobody is offering Love anything so it's easy for him to poo poo it.

Hmmm, maybe Pelley, and Donald, have come to their senses after all.

Spuzz But their money (the sponsor's) has been laundered, so the blood has been washed off and it's just good clean commerce
I suppose selling a product to them is the same as being their employee/waterboy..... or
as in the progolfweekly article:
Gotta love the false equivalencies here. Cause selling shaving cream to Saudi citizens or John Deere tractors to farmers in SA is the same as being a de facto employee of the Saudi Arabian government.
