Returning to the Kingdom - when you know they are displeased with you is a head-scratcher … unless your intent all along was to set yourself up as some type of martyr. She openly supported dissidents (most notably her own sister), and her still active twitter account has the pinned message “Freedom for prisoners of conscience and all the oppressed of the world”. Kind of makes me think she is getting what she sought - most notably the global attention.

So two LIV tours. Non-profit gone. With 18 non-cut events the elite players and the the other players will barely tee it up together. What a shame. Basically ripping away the opportunity for a player outside the top 60 to compete against and beat the best of the best. If this does happen it would be a shame. Just my opinion.

    Mattyv "Private equity money".
Yeah, OK. So at least there won't be any of that foreign type money being funneled through the back door. Just "private equity".

Plus, dropping their tax exempt status will mean not having to publish the exorbitant amounts given to their executives/board members 🤪

sdandrea1 If I had F.U. money, I'd build an affordable, easy golf course with strong junior/family incentives. Grow the game.

Of course you would. Your heart is in the right place.
    🙂
Only the truly arrogant, hypocritical, phony elite types (like Tiger) would attempt to take the game of golf backwards by re-enforcing the old boys club. It's not a surprise though, if you've been paying attention.

johnnydoom Hey! Tiger is out there designing courses for public access. You can play Payne’s Valley for a mere $325 in season.

That concept of the elite 18, dumping non-profit seems counter to the PGA Tour being the ultimate. I must be missing something, limited fields, no cuts, high ranking points, sounds like the expanding of the WGC events, Heck not it down to 54 holes and call it LIV Golf.

I think the PGA Tour is worried that they are about to take some major hits in the court cases.

Martee I'll put this question to you, as you may know; I do not know anything about such things....

If the PGA gives up their non-profit status and goes the private equity route, trying to stave off the LIV Tour poachings, are they not then susceptible to a 'take over'....by people with billions of $$, much like the private equity firms are known to do? 🤔

I'm sure someone here knows how such things work.

According to a report by The Fire Pit Collective, these elevated events would feature purses of $20 million. However, according to multiple sources inside the Wilmington meeting, the report that the Tour would renounce its tax-exempt status and the report that the Tour would plan to privatize and sell equity in the new venture were inaccurate. Those topics were not discussed, according to sources inside the room.

Heard the interview that Colt Knost and Drew Stolz (Gravy and the Sleaze on PGA Tour Radio) had with Davis Love where he said similar things he says in the article. He’s a very good spokesperson for the PGA Tour.

        Par4QC

That article was written by a PGA Tour marketing person using No Love as his dupe, and the interview was done in Fred Couples' living room.

Spuzz 20 years on their payroll should buy them at least this much, right?

Spuzz Well, what do we expect to hear from someone that has already got $45M+ in the bank from Pro golf, nearing 60 yrs. old? To be sure, all the 'old' guys do not feel the same, with their $3M banked after playing 20+ yrs., and winning a lot of tourneys.

I do like DL though, always have.
