I'm being a bit silly now, but you have to with reporting these days. Is the information in the brackets [ ] actually in the contract, or is that "context" added by the author as it usually is when brackets are added to quotes?

IIRC the Ryder Cup participants were not paid years ago. Wasn't it 20-25 years ago the players were "whining" that the RC generated a lot of money and they got none? I think that changed, but I don't know to what extent. I also seem to recall that the captains were not paid directly, but did receive expenses for travel, et al. Obviously participating in the event gives you more fame that could generate income for you afterwards. Joe Public sits back and thinks "well they are already millionaires that should play for pride and for their country" while someone is collecting a boatload of money behind the scenes.

They get 0 compensation. But the PGA of America gives each player $200,000 to donate to charity. Half of which the player can designate.

Having less stress to achieve results may see him return to form, but, imo, that was not going to happen on the PGA Tour anytime soon. He was more likely to lose his card first.

sdandrea1 You could argue that Ancer is in or approaching his. Reed is still in his prime. DJ is still potent but seems to be slowing down, and Koepka's recovery is uncertain. Everyone else is like almost everyone else.
Yeah, Dechambeau is 28 and Keopka is 32. I consider those prime years.
Peak depends on the player. But it looks like 30-34 dominates.

The PGAT response is indicative that they were caught napping. They are not used to competition or what it feels like to be competitive. Stop making accusations and focus your efforts on improving and becoming THE BEST professional golf tour.
Forget the Ryder Cup. I want to see a PGA vs LIV Cup. Settle it on the course as it should be.
