mikeintopeka They claim it's all about Jay.

Possibly so, but, it has always been all about Sergio also.

His reasoning is obfuscation and rationalization IMO. Less travel ? Really ? Exciting ? For him ? 🙄

I'm watching it right now on Youtube and I think they are doing some things right. The PGA could learn a thing or two.
I love the shotgun start idea. There is constant action.
They have all the holes color coded green, yellow, or red for ease.
The rank all the players on driving, iron play, wedges, and putting.
It's pretty entertaining, to be honest.

They also mentioned that Henri Duplessis had been toiling away on various tours for years and had lifetime earnings of about $700K.
In the inaugural LIV event he finished second and made over two million dollars in three days. Hard to blame a guy for taking an opportunity like that.

Interesting early polling on perceptions of the LIV v PGA controversy. The younger generation (to age 34) have a lot more interest in the LIV than the spin-doctors would have you believe.

Another observation from the Harris Poll. The Harris Poll surveyed Americans to get a clearer picture of this fight for the future of golf. While a much larger proportion of respondents were familiar with the PGA Tour than with LIV (80% as opposed to 35%), both golf fans and the population as a whole are LIV-curious. Nearly three-quarters (74%) of golf fans and 55% of U.S. adults who both have heard of LIV Golf said that they plan to watch an LIV event this year. Two-thirds of LIV-aware golf fans report already having watched LIV Golf’s first event.

I'll spend some time streaming the LIV this weekend because the LIV field is a LOT stronger than what the PGA is presenting. I didn't watch the Travelers last week either...The LPGA was riveting.

Sergio’s and other LIV members saying they can spend more time with their families brings up what I mentioned before.

Is LIV’s model of less golf viable? We know the Saudi’s have unlimited funds, but can they generate enough interest by playing less golf?

    And on YouTube no less.

What do the Saudi sponsors get out of this venture? They didn't get obnoxiously wealthy on bad investments.

Sneakylong Their country resides on a giant gas station. Lol

I know about the oil thing. 😂
I'm wondering if they're expecting an ROI on all this cash they're dolling out to these players. Big TV contracts? Other sponsors? Or are they just ho-ing away money on golf like me?

Image enhancement. AKA the ‘S’ word ending in washing. Lol They’re not in it for the money. They make a billion dollars a day.

Take it you didn’t see JT Poston’s 62? Lol Plus there’s a nice little tournament in Ireland this weekend. ⛳️

Watching the Portland telecast on YouTube. No ads. Enjoyable you have to wrap your head around shotgun start and team concept. I kinda like it I can see where the under 30 crowd likes LIV. I like Jerry Foltz's commentary and had missed him on TGC. Doesn't seem like many fans in attendance Thursday afternoon.

Looks like the video owners doesn’t want anyone to see it on other platforms. 😏

Yep you can still follow it to YouTube. I see the same on this site from various owners of YouTube channels.

Sneakylong Nope, doesn’t work. Not that I’m interested anyway.

Works for me. Click on Watch on YouTube for those that are interested,

garyt1957 I don't care about it either. I can't imagine ever watching it, but I don't really watch PGA Golf either. I just get a kick out of the faux outrage by the moralists who in my opinion are just jealous that they can't cash in, all while doing business with some even worse regimes.
I'm sure there's a few sincere people like Sneaky who really believe what they spout, but I'm betting 95% would immediately take a job with a Saudi company if it simply doubled their salary

                  Amen

Don't you know? Everybody will be fooled and suddenly believe that they are upstanding world citizens and the best people on earth. Pay attention.

It should start happening any minute now
