I'm wondering if they're expecting an ROI on all this cash they're dolling out to these players. Big TV contracts? Other sponsors? Or are they just ho-ing away money on golf like me?

Watching the Portland telecast on YouTube. No ads. Enjoyable you have to wrap your head around shotgun start and team concept. I kinda like it I can see where the under 30 crowd likes LIV. I like Jerry Foltz's commentary and had missed him on TGC. Doesn't seem like many fans in attendance Thursday afternoon.

garyt1957 I don't care about it either. I can't imagine ever watching it, but I don't really watch PGA Golf either. I just get a kick out of the faux outrage by the moralists who in my opinion are just jealous that they can't cash in, all while doing business with some even worse regimes.
I'm sure there's a few sincere people like Sneaky who really believe what they spout, but I'm betting 95% would immediately take a job with a Saudi company if it simply doubled their salary

U.S. captain Zach Johnson isn’t counting on using players who have joined LIV Golf when next year’s Ryder Cup begins in Italy. They won’t be there.

“In order to play on the Ryder Cup team whether you’re top 6 or a pick, you must garner Ryder Cup points through the PGA of America,” Johnson said. “In order to garner Ryder Cup points through the PGA of America, you have to be a member of the PGA of America. The way that we’re members of the PGA of America is through the PGA Tour."

Do the fellas that have been suspended by the PGA also hold DP World Tour cards, DJ, PM, et all? How does that work, having dual membership? I see they were not fined by DP, as were the ones from Europe.

The lawsuit will continue, imo, as it was always going to end up in the courts, given the antagonistic stance taken by both Tours. The letter was the players' version of "you knew and had a choice", so cya in court.
