So, when looking for golf components, which sites do you check? I tend to check Golf Works (ca) since they have a Canadian distributor, and then check Hireko...

It's been said for the most part, it's the best of times and it's the worst of times, haha

Anything that comes in our door is shipped right back out, golf demand in all areas is through the roof. Needless to say we are having our best year in the last 20, but it could have been so much more (although every golf company can say that).

A new Pinhawk order from day of order is 14 months to our door. At this point you have to think about 2023 selling season. We started working with a new foundry on a new putter project to see how it goes and we may shift most of our production over to them if all goes smooth.

I laughed so hard when Tinker says the component biz is in the tank. It is without exaggeration the best time in history. Mike picked the perfect time to dive back in with SMT and I have no doubt he and Jason will crush it with the line.

There's less competition and more business than ever, these are the halcyon days if you can get product.

Side note......i went by a local Ford dealer the other day and I've never seen more empty space at a car lot. Incredible.

ValueGolf I didn’t mean for the few remaining companies as much as I meant for the component consumer. Other than single length or specialty odd stuff there isn’t much in the way of new iron or driver designs. Golfworks tries but they charge premium. As much as people hate the word “knock off” they want something equivalent to the latest designs and technology and in return for the lack of brand recognition and assembling themselves they want to pay half the price of Oem’s. That’s what the component suppliers of old offered. If you built clubs as a business you had to offer all that and still make a profit. A 50 dollar head, 35 dollar KBS steel shaft and 10 dollar Golfpride grip ends up being ( with a couple bucks for shipping and supplies) a 100 dollar iron. I know stuff like Alpha is good, I use it, but selling 20 year old design at current top dollar also makes no sense.

I'm still waiting for my Ford Maverick pickup. Supposed to get it "this fall", but I'll be surprised if I see it this year. The price is locked in tho.

of used cars - perhaps - waiting for the prices to go even higher.

I cannot believe people everywhere, actually bought vehicles this year(new or used). To me, it's unimaginable, knowing what we know about the Earth's overpopulation of 'waiting' vehicles.

We bought a used vehicle this year. Price increase was offset by the amount I got for my trade in. Both my trade and the car we bought were inflated by $3k so it was mostly a wash.

I mentioned that a while back. One the news all you see is how much you can get for your used car and I mentioned nobody in the news mentions it’s be a wash if you need another car.

Like Steve said, I happened to drive by a car dealship and was also shocked at how few cars were on the lot.

At the course I work at I see a TON of Top Flite and Strata sets… all new golfers. They’re profits must be through the roof because prior to the pandemic you never saw a single TF or Strata anything.

They still need truck drivers and that is also one of the shortages that we are dealing with.

So, solve the problem by looking at part of the issue? That's not how it works, but we will see if it helps.

Edit: I see that part of their plan is to also get the trucks and rail unions working together as well.

You can't fix the whole problem with one stroke of the pen. You fix what you can when you can and keep working the problem.

Everybody wants to fix everything with one move.

Truck driving is definitely a problem too. We had an LTL shipment yesterday that was a couple days short of a month (normal times 5 days from CA).

But port issues getting better would be a big big help.

Those days are gone. You can't produce a 3 dollar iron head anymore and sell it for 6 dollars (whether you call it a knock off or an original design). The club building hobby has shifted to do-it-yourselfers which is a huge market (bigger than the knock off days ever were). There's a reason why places like Lowes and Home Depot continue to grow, people want to do work themselves for the satisfaction and slight savings (or sometimes not-so-slight).

You say Golfworks "tries". I promise you that Golfworks is having huge years and will continue to do so with their boutique designs. They have a small line and sell the heck out of it.

I agree 100% with that when I look at the Alpha V2mb heads. Same price now as when they came out years ago, I look all the time.
