Golf component sites

So, when looking for golf components, which sites do you check? I tend to check Golf Works (ca) since they have a Canadian distributor, and then check Hireko...

ValueGolf I didn’t mean for the few remaining companies as much as I meant for the component consumer. Other than single length or specialty odd stuff there isn’t much in the way of new iron or driver designs. Golfworks tries but they charge premium. As much as people hate the word “knock off” they want something equivalent to the latest designs and technology and in return for the lack of brand recognition and assembling themselves they want to pay half the price of Oem’s. That’s what the component suppliers of old offered. If you built clubs as a business you had to offer all that and still make a profit. A 50 dollar head, 35 dollar KBS steel shaft and 10 dollar Golfpride grip ends up being ( with a couple bucks for shipping and supplies) a 100 dollar iron. I know stuff like Alpha is good, I use it, but selling 20 year old design at current top dollar also makes no sense.

Those days are gone. You can't produce a 3 dollar iron head anymore and sell it for 6 dollars (whether you call it a knock off or an original design). The club building hobby has shifted to do-it-yourselfers which is a huge market (bigger than the knock off days ever were). There's a reason why places like Lowes and Home Depot continue to grow, people want to do work themselves for the satisfaction and slight savings (or sometimes not-so-slight).

You say Golfworks "tries". I promise you that Golfworks is having huge years and will continue to do so with their boutique designs. They have a small line and sell the heck out of it.

I agree 100% with that when I look at the Alpha V2mb heads. Same price now as when they came out years ago, I look all the time.

They're still selling square heads and have a 340cc driver head for $150

Typhoon Big time! 12 cheapo shafts, I'll never get because of those assholes.

Ordered a bunch of the $4.99 Paderson shafts; driver, hybrids, iron. All showed 'in stock' when paying for order, all showed 'in stock' when I got the receipt. Several minutes later, I realized I never got the flex for me, so figured to bite the bullet, pay 2x for shipping, and ordered 5 in my flex/style. (9/30)Not long after, got a shipping confirmation, but only for the 2nd order. Went back, checked status of 1st order, and found 1 of the iron shafts listed as 'backorder', which I knew damn well they could not get any more of. Then, got an email from them wanting me to call; replied I could not use phone and email would suffice. Nothing....several days pass, the 2nd order arrives, and I still got no reply. Sent another email to them, and this time got a reply that I did not answer their 1st. Replied as to why, repeated same as before, and then they say they sent a reply to my reply. I said NO, you did not. Told them to just ship remainder of order.(10/7). Never heard from them again. Today, I have 'the secretary' call. They cancelled the order yesterday, and refunded. I got no notice from them about a cancellation, nor did I get a notice from PP where I got a refund. Said to redo. wtf....there is no 'redo'...the shafts are out of stock!! Poorly run bunch of assholes, which I will never have to deal with again. There were 3 emails total that they said they sent.....they fucking lie!!

I did just check PP and the refund is now showing, dated yesterday. Wasn't there last night, I can tell you that!(I was countin' my money, yes. 😂)

garyt1957 ah, but the Super BOM is an Almo creation.....not that old at all. He went back to them a few years ago, before 'retiring'.
The other heads, yes, some are more than 20 yrs. old.

I think what happened was the system got overwhelmed. So many people were buying at the same time the orders couldn’t be filled fast enough.

I'm done with them. Bought some heads last year that were way off spec, so, it's good riddance on my part. No one gets 3 strikes with Rex. 😅
