Na wasn't chosen strictly because he isn't long enough for the course.

The only pick I'm not a huge fan of is Berger.... hopefully he proves me wrong.

Sneakylong would’ve picked Na

Stricker set up the team for the course being played. He's opted for distance. Na is one of the shortest players on tour IMO that's why he didn't get picked.

I guess I don't blame Stricker for picking bigger hitters, but they better be able to get the ball in the hole

    scotts33 that's why he didn't get picked.

No, that's bullshit. He's only 8 yards shorter than Berger, and 10 yards, or less, shorter than most of the others on the team.
Check his rounds measured against rounds of the others....he plays a lot more.

At least with Na, the team would have had at least 1 player 'with fire'. May be good days for napping with these guys playing, instead of watching Speith and Thomas with their heads between their knees, when they get behind.

Hope Berger doesn't miss too many of those '$1M' putts, he's known for(imo).

Berger is 10 years younger than Na. Stricker youth movement as experienced older players surely haven't won the past Ryder Cups he's trying something completely different. I agree with that thinking.

If Koepka determines he's not fit to play ... I think I would like to see Stricker select Will Zalatoris. His RC points per start must be pretty high? IMO, too much weight is given to RC points earned two, and even three this year, years ago.

Stu1961 I would like to see Sam Burns if Koepka can’t go.

If Koepka can’t go, does DeChambeau put out about it?

Burns' length would seem to be a good fit for that course.

When it comes to the Brooks/Bryson feud ... my impression is that it will continue for however long Brooks wants it to. If Brooks doesn't play - there's no way Bryson won't be asked about it by the media, and my guess, is that he'll say something pre-scripted about wanting to have the best players on the team to give the US the best chance to win.

Someone's not a Reed fan and seems to be trying way too hard to strike up controversy? It sounds like Reed, or possibly/more likely, whoever runs his Twitter account, was just thanking fans who were supportive of Reed as a selection. One of the posts liked by "Reed" that Harig lists in his ESPN column was "Patrick Reed - American badass". How was that either "aimed at Stricker" or "disparaging" to him? The most "disparaging" listed were one saying "probably not a good decision by the captain" and one thanking Stricker for "giving the European team a life line" by not picking Reed. Scathing! Reed has far from the most likeable personality - and certainly has some history/baggage with controversies - but, to me, Harig is the one here that comes off looking like the douche.

I think it was a mistake not picking Reed, he might have been the perfect guy to pair with
Bryson....2 controversial "villains" would've been fun to watch! IMO

The European Ryder Cup team will be finalised in the next couple of hours - the 9 players below are confirmed on the team after the BMW PGA, 3 picks to be named at 7:30pm UK time (with Garcia and Poulter very likely to be on the team).

          Jon Rahm
          Tommy Fleetwood
          Tyrell Hatton
          Bernd Wiesberger
          Rory McIlroy
          Victor Hovland
          Paul Casey
          Matt Fitzpatrick
          Lee Westwood

To the surprise of absolutely NO ONE, Harrington picked Ian Poulter, Sergio Garcia, and Shane Lowrey, so the
teams are set. If I were Stricker, I would have concentrated on "who can sink a putt when he needs to?!!" b/c
that's where we seem to continually fail when we play the Euros in either Ryder Cups or Solheim Cups. They
make 'em....we don't. How many putts did Leona McGuire & Company make at Inverness when they needed
to last week vs. the US girls...???
