Too bad, the 2 reasons for rejection will not help to move the drivers.
Had it be the COR issue, there might be a market for it.

Bangoman

There'll be no money if they could not move the merchandise. I thought they teach this in elementary schools.

They are deeming it nonconforming b/c of the soleplate being slightly visible at address on the 10.5 and 12 *....citing plain in shape.....the USGA is an absolute embarrassment.....now the other reason was with the 12g weight and heavier soleplate apparently they say it exceeds CT....I'm calling bullshit on that....but at least it sounds legit. But the plain in shape argument cmon man!

Someone has to uphold the rules and the regulations.
Wilson screwed up, for someone whom had been in the industry so long it looked sloppy.

What rules and regulations? Where are they about the sole plate in the rules and regulations? Why is the 9* conforming, because Streelman or whatever his name is plays it? I'm curious.

I have no idea why they chose to have the soleplate stick out, but why in the world does it matter....seems so petty to me.

LBlack14 I suspect the soleplate does not stick out on the 9 at the rear of the crown, why....who knows.

Plain in shape. Stupidity at the highest level. Who the Hell do they think they are to tell the consumer and golf companies what a golf club should look like?

And in my testing with the heavier No Brainer if some of you recall with more weight directly behind the face (up to10 to 12 grams) creates faster ball speed. The USGA testing now proves I was correct. The problem was most fitters and hobbiest wouldn't buy into my thinking to forget swingweight and just find the right shaft to properly load and unload during fitting. Some understood....most didn't.

[RANT/ON] The problem with the USGA, IMHO, is nobody governs them. They are a ruling body who feels they don't answer to anyone. I stopped supporting them after the DJ clusterfuck at the US Open last summer. Until they pull their heads out of their collective asses and realize that they might be party to killing the game, they'll just continue to wallow in their own pompousness. I wouldn't be surprised if they ruled the Wilson Triton non-conforming just because they were pissed that Wilson took it to market on the assumption that it would pass. They nitpicked until they found something just to show Wilson who's boss. Bunch of dick pimples, they are. [RANT/OFF]

          Sarcasm I hope?

We've certainly seen a helluva lot worse! They're a fucking joke, period. Lump them in there with the NCAA and NFL.

If you read the whole thread which you posted, the explanation of why the sole plates on the 10.5° and the 12° were non conforming, with photos........is plain and simple.
Not a big issue to be"fixed". A very sloppy job from the factory, be able to pass the inspection by Wilson is like someone just got into the biz. not long ago.

Sloppy. Like Wilson did not expect a while lot out of this driver.

If "plain in shape" is a rule, how did any early PING irons pass?

And why does that matter? So what, you can see the sole plate at address, big whoop!! Who came up with the rule that says you can't or where is it printed??

                  ode

                  Well ?

If a golf ball moved while a player addressing the golf ball, or not ? The game is formed around rule and regulations. To compete in the highest level of this game, every natty gritty matters, and everyone needs to conform, for fairness of play.
For the weekend golfers, who cares ?

We like to attack the USGA and in a few cases they deserved the criticism. No one like to be policed. All we have to do is take a step back and imagine a world without enforced rules and regulations. I don't believe human beings are capable of self governing at this point of evolution. Perhaps in a few centuries if, we don't extinguish ourselves first.
