Seymore101 the Traeger “can” sear, but I don’t have the patience for it. My buddy has one, for it to get to 500 degrees it takes about 35 minutes, the make up time is longer too, so if you go throwing a bunch of cold stuff on it, it gets too cool for my liking. I have a smoker and a grill, neither one is any good at trying to do the other’s job. To me, it’s like saying you can play gold with a hybrid as a putter, you can, and you only have one club to buy, but it’s going to be a helluva lot better doing it’s real job than trying to serve 2.
