Do you have the "commercial" model? My research showed the commercial line was longer lasting and a better product. I got mine on a Black Friday sale for $300 which $100 off at the time about 4 years ago.

Mattyv The raised logo says commercial, but the sticker decals do not. Everything is in solid shape but the infrared plates have been changed 2 times. Those are 100-160 bucks each time.

I had the three burner version and had the same - replaced the plates a few times. Finally got sick of the grill when the starter stopped working as well. Lasted 10+ years though.

Haven't decided on a new one yet, but Weber and Kamado make up my short list.

I am probably due for some new IR plates soon. I try and clean them 2-3 times a year. All depends on what I have been cooking on them. Mine are 4+ years old now.

Have a Weber gas and Komodo grill (Acorn, much cheaper than ceramic Komodo), love them both. Had a ton of gas grills in the past until I finally bit the bullet on a Weber, they are fantastic and worth the cost.

I am leaning toward a new Weber because their grills are nice and great CS. I haven't decided on the model yet. I like the Spirit but being made in China and reduced quality is a concern although I am guessing they are still better than most other brankds. I like the Rogue from Napoleon and it is supposedly a good grill but I am finding to many complaints about their CS.

Mattyv This is what we have and it's been good. I am not a grill expert though. My wife makes me grill as I seem to do better at it than her, but although I love to eat, I have no love for cooking.

I've had a Char Broil Big Red on N/G that's still going strong after 18yrs.
If I ever replace it I'll probably be looking at a Napolean that works off NG.
Propane sucks, especially when you run out in the middle of grilling something.

That's why I have two tanks for my grill. I fill the empty one soon after it becomes empty. That way I always have a spare.

Before I got the Vision, this was my go to.

Charbroil that has lasted over 20 years.

Body is cast aluminum and has a 3 tier rack. I couldn't find another that was reasonably priced. Still have a spare grill rack if I need it. Original is still in use.

I have replaced the burners countless times, but it works as well as any gas grill I've seen.

I have a gauge in mine that tells me how much gas I have left. I check it every time I turn the valve on before grilling.

Living in SW MN where it's windy most days, it works best for me to have the propane tanks. Then I can move the grill to where the wind is blocked by the house or garage, etc.

I got a BBQ ribs hankering on the 4th but my experience cooking ribs is meh, so I found some pre-cooked ribs at a Sav-A-Lot grocery packed with sauce. I bought two racks and flipped them on a hot grill for 4 minutes per side. They blackened very nicely and were wonderful with plenty of extra sauce. They were very tender and had lots of meat on them. I was quite surprised. We had them with some Amish tater salad and baked beans. Yum.
