Was on TV tonight and I forgot how surprised I was by this movie when it came out. I recall seeing previews and thinking yet another Costner movie would suck balls at the time. Turns out it was actually quite good.

Also - memories with @jamez ...

Being an LA guy he thought Waffle House was a made up place for the movie, so on the Alabama Golf Trail we made a special trip to the home of grease just for him! 😇

Years later on TPC Scottsdale Stadium, sharing a cart with him. Par 5 15th. I laid up and have mere 60 yards to the pin over the water. I proceed to chunk three in a row into the H2O. ""Romes, ball"" I said. He tosses me one and says '"Now stop fucking around and knock it on"' There was no setup, we just defaulted to that scene 🤣🤣

Remember the Waffle House in Prattville, AL. April of 2004. I think Jamez liked it too.

Just watch Tin Cup last night. My favorite golf movie. Met Kevin Costner several years ago at the old Outback Pro Am in Tampa. Nice guy. Decent golfer as well.

I even have the title song of the movie Little Bit Is Better Than Nada by The Texas Tornados as my ring tone on my iPhone. Lol

Somehow or another I've never seen Tin Cup. I like the actors in the movie and haven't gone out of my way to avoid it. Just haven't fit it in somewhere along the way.

Wow, it's on a lot it seems. Sometimes the Golf Channel runs it in a marathon. I've seen it multiple times. Know most of the famous lines like, "toed it a bit, but it'll due" etc.. lol

Usually now I'll flip around like last night and if it's on somewhere will end up watching it. It happened to be on Fox Sports last night. Try to catch it I think you'll like it. Good feel good golf movie.

Sneakylong Yeah I see it on the TV listing often. I just never seem to catch it before it starts. I won't tune into a movie that I haven't seen if I can't see it from the beginning. Clearly I haven't gone out of my way to see it, but I'm that way about most movies. Usually if I plan ahead to see a movie it is because someone else wanted me to see it with them. I'll catch up to it sometime.

It has been quite a while since I've seen that movie. Would be nice to catch it again, that one and Bagger Vance.
@Sneakylong got a DVR? You should be able to check for upcoming showings and record one so you can watch it on your time.

""Tin Cup"" a golf movie we can all relate too....one of Costner's best!

Walterjn Sneakylong has seen it, it's me that hasn't. Yes, I do have a DVR, but it has a lot of stuff on it that I haven't gotten around to in quite some time. I don't want to add to the pile. I'll get to Tin Cup in due time.

@johnnydoom needs the DVR. lol I've seen Tin Cup more times than I can count. haha Bagger Vance is another good golf movie. The Greatest Game Ever Played is another good one.

Sorry about that guys. I'm still waking up and have yet to crawl out of bed and into the kitchen to obtain coffee.
I don't think I've seen The Greatest Game Ever Played yet. I did get to catch Dead Solid Perfect in the last week. It was pretty good. Found it on YouTube.

Greatest Game Ever Played is a lot better than Bagger Vance, imo. Tin Cup is fun. Favorite part is the back nine entirely with nothing but a 7- iron.

I read the book, "The Greatest Game Ever Played" before the movie came out. Someone gave me the book for either my birthday or for Christmas, I can't remember which. It was very good and I looked forward to the movie when I heard it was coming out. I enjoyed both.

The Squeeze is a decent golf movie. Based on a true story I believe.
