Any of you guys try the M890 hybrids?
Maltby M890 Hybrid
Yes! If you like the offset, they're easy to launch and very forgiving.

The offset of the 890 wouldn't likely bother me and the 28° is the one I am most interested in along with the 24°. I have played the KE4 Tour, KE4 ST-H and have a KE4 Tour TC. Basically I'm looking for something to go in place of a TS-2 5 iron and now prefer hybrids in that spot.
Anyone have a 4 or 5 head to sell?
Almost bought one. In searching for a hybrid with more loft I demoed a Cally BB 21 that looks almost exactly like the M890 and although I initially thought it was fugly I was hitting it great with an Aerotech HLS880 S shaft. Initially the Cally looked very offset, but actually the face was very square. I think the M890 is similar and I was going to build one, but opted to try to KE4 TC first with the Aerotech. Club is drying now. If it doesn't work out well I may go back for the M890 head.
bad9 Just a thought, but I have two Distance Master heads (21* and 28*) that was Maltby's value brand several years ago. They look like the picture below. They don't look like much (each has a scratch on the crown), but are certainly playable. They're yours for shipping costs ($10-15 for the two, depending on how far you live from Ohio).
Any new comments now that a few more may have tried them. More importantly any for sale or trade
bad9 I may break down and try one soon. The KE4 TC is nice, but not sure it's a keeper. I've only loved 2 hybrids: OG Cleveland Halo and a Nakashima NX1. My Cally XR16 OS hybrids were nice, but then the faces flattened. Callaway sent me Rogue X replacements, but they don't seem to work anywhere near as well for me.
bad9 did you ever try out an M890?
No I didn't. I would like to try the 21* because I demoed a Cally hybrid that looked very similar and I was hitting it great. I picked up some distance this year and have been hitting my Rogue X 5 hybrid so well that I haven't worried about a 3-4 hybrid. Might be a winter project once it's snowy and I'm bored.
I won't get to hit it until next year but I did have an M890 5h head show up today. Its a little bigger than expected but that's not a bad thing. L-R is a KE4 Tour TC 4h, M89-05h, 23° KE4 UW
ode I actually found UW to be pretty forgiving. I thought the deep face might be difficult for me off the fairway but it really wasn't and was very nice off the tee. For some reason I found the 23 easy to block right. I might try it in a different configuration next year, got our first snow this week
