Quit screwing around with more than 1 experiment at the same time.
That is what you are doing when you make an over length driver that is a lot lighter than your normal. If you are playing a total static weight of 317gr., you make the long driver similar weight. When you go 2" longer, and 20 gr. lighter, you have not only asked for something you can't deal with....you got it! Those are 2 different dogs on the track, at the same time, and most people can't even handle 1 of them at a time. It's why long driver experiment players post on forums....."it doesn't work for me!".
You play a 45" driver that weighs 317gr., you build that 47" driver with the same specs. Only thing that would possibly need to change might be shaft flex, and it most certainly would never be to a softer flex. And only then....are you 'trying a long driver'. Build it any other way, and you are trying something completely different. And you will post on golf forums....."it doesn't work for me!"
