Baymiller used to prefer the 190 gram heads, felt the lighter ones had less pop. Some feel you should go down a flex if you're using a 175g head, but as long as you can feel the head during the swing, you should be OK. Any flex will feel a bit softer (though definitely not a full flex) just from the length. And while an ultra lightweight build might help seniors, a stronger player might feel like he's swinging a stick. I tried the 175g DTG/Integra heads when they first came out, with a 50g shaft and had no idea where I was swinging. A buddy tried it and hit about 18 inches behind the ball. Even after spending 10-12 hours with it at the range over a week, I still had no idea what it was doing. My latest experiment is a Maltby STW2 at 210 grams with the TM Tensei in stiff, butt cut to 46.75" Seems to be pretty good so far. I'll give it a few more weeks and then let it go head-to-head with the 9015D with a Longwood in it (but not the 50/50).
It's a fun thing to experiment with. I found I hit a 44" driver better after swinging the longer one -- seems to help my timing and keeping me from trying to force those few extra yards out of it.
