johnnydoom I'm not retiring until some employee approaches my boss and asks who the senile old man in the corner cube is that keeps mumbling that Reagan would bomb them into a new time zone.
Tomorrow, eh?

I had a a bologna sandwich sitting open face on a plate on a coffee table. Unknown to me was our tomcat laying upside down on the lower shelf. A little paw pops up with one toenail and he snags the bologna slice and snatches it down to the lower shelf.

Who exactly approved the waiver for the limit of stupid people out in public?
Bravopilot It was declared 'endemic' many years ago.

it's almost to the point that it invalidates Darwin's work.
Friggin' political ads have already started here in Northern VA, just sad, plus they are all bad
Bravopilot already started
Must take several months for things from up North to move SSE!!
Then again, I live across the border from Iowa. They started there before you-know-who became the ex.

johnnydoom Other than a slow starting Georgia team, the SEC kind of looks like garbage so far this year.
Glad to see Bama have a down year, or three. No offense to any Bama fans here.
garyt1957 I did a bit of reading about this strike today. I'm finding out some of these workers are just 'temp' status and that can go on for years. They only make '+/- $18/hr.' with no benefits. ( not sure if they are allowed to join union as temps though). They have odd shift hours as stated by 1 worker that she gets off the 'overnight' shift at 5 a.m.. Also, the 'tiered' pay is nothing short of bullshit.
I also found out all the workers have no pension plan any longer; 'taken' away back in '08(iirc).
Strikes were/are to serve a purpose.... as are unions. They, unions, came into being for better working conditions, & hours. It was not about the pay. These days, it is all about the pay as that is 99% of what is always mentioned in print or interviews.
The workers should be striking. But, about 80% of them have no clue about it all.
And they are striking against the wrong entity, the companies.
The companies did not 'take away' anything in the form of pay/benefits. It was the f'king union 'giving back'!! And when it comes to unions....they are ...entities!!
As a former UAW member/union official, I've seen the shit they blame on companies, when it is their own doings.
Yes, you may consider this post a mea culpa.
garyt1957 I do, if people don't like it, they can buy the company set their own standards, and accept all the risks. Non-risk takers are all talk
