johnnydoom We got good money trading in the Jeep. I wanted to sell it myself, wife was afraid to. Truck we got was a bit more than I wanted to spend but the extra trade money and the fact that it’s a CPO vehicle sealed it. Being CPO it required new Brembo brakes all around and brand new Pirelli Scorpion tires. Almost $5000 right there.

I guess it's back to stealing cars for a good joyride.......not as much fun though....

Kamala Harris Says Buses Are Made β€œSo People Can Get Where They Need To Go!”

There was a news report on TV last week that said a local school district bought 4 new electric school buses for $400k each. A new diesel bus costs $150k.

azgreg Do the battery factories run on air? Are the batteries made from air?

Bravopilot Batteries alone are an issue for the earth

        Yep. So are vehicles. πŸ€”

Bravopilot my issue is the flat out hypocrisy of those who are promoting electric vehicles. They claim the vehicles are better for the planet, yet they completely ignore the fact they the mines pulling the materials out of the ground in some 3rd world country are using worn out internal combustion engines. They ignore the fact that there are very few battery recycling plants for those batteries, or that when they catch fire, the fumes from those fires are polluting more than the standard gas or diesel truck.
Let alone that California is trying to mandate electric vehicles all the while not having the infrastructure to support the charging of said vehicles.

Walterjn while not having the infrastructure to support the charging of said vehicles.

They will have. After they initiate the tax on electric consumption for electric vehicles. I mean, after all........πŸ€”, it's California.

Par4QC Do the battery factories run on air? Are the batteries made from air?

No. Are there any more stupid ass questions you'd like to ask?

azgreg so, where do they get the materials for said batteries? How do they get them? Where does the electricity to charge them come from?? We sure don't have that many nuclear power plants.

Now if they can perfect small nuclear power plants and we can all use those to power vehicles, I'm all for that. I just don't see that happening any time soon, or in my lifetime.

              Walterjn
The batteries are dirty, no denying that. Both in production and in disposal. With that being said vehicles that run on fossil fuels have a bigger carbon footprint than electric vehicles over the life of the vehicle and it's not even close.
