Hole #1 at Pendleton Golf Club (here) has a tee at the tips that I can't reach the fairway from, even with my best drive.

Understood that. But ANYONE that meets those quals can enter the field. Getting through qualifiers to Thursday of the Open is the gauntlet. I can't think of any justification to the keep LIV guys out.

Even a 0.4 handicap has virtually no chance of getting through qualifying, realistically. Most of the guys who get through are in the +3 to +6 range.

candukid But you only hit it as far as I hit my 7 iron. For normal people it would be easy to reach the fairway
