The I-drives. I built the 8, 9, P, S, and played them today. I ordered the 5, 6, and 7. I might get the 3 and 4. I am actually shocked how high they launch and how ez is it to chip with them. Wish I'd caved in sooner, but my ego, you know.

I built a set of Power Play Select 5000 to. Those are no-brainers too. Point and shoot.

Played 18 today in cool, windy, showery conditions. The good news is there was almost nobody on the course. We got slowed up when we ran into a 4some at the 6th hole, but they did not play 18 so we had clear sailing on the back nine. Took us a sweet 2h 30m for the 18. I have been struggling with my PING G410 5 wood for some time and this was the last hurrah for that sucker. I had found an old Callaway 5 wood that I loved on Ebay ready to take its place. Well it must have known because the dang thing was outstanding today. I guess it is like when I put a club that is unruly in the closet until it is ready to work for me.

I shot 78 yesterday, the best round of the year so far. Nothing spectacular, just steady golf - 6 bogeys and 12 pars.

76, that felt much better than that. Front 9, 2 birdies; 1 that was a kick-in 8"....that close to an eagle(Par 5). The 2nd was a chip in from 15 yds.. 2 bogeys offset them. Missed a few other birdie opps during the round, but still only had 24 putts on the day, with 10 1 putts. Should have been more putts/lower score, what with hitting almost all FWs(10/14). Could not get a GIR. Short game was A+, obviously, driving really decent. The double bogey on #18 is not to be mentioned.
I'll take it; warm, windy, summertime, outdoors. 👍

Well, I followed myself up with only a slightly less assey game Sunday. I scored more points, but still didn't get to my quota. My partner didn't either, so I spared myself too much guilt. Still sucks to let down a partner though.

I was useless. So useless they took away my belt and shoe laces for fear of self-harm.

I had placed a small bet on the winning team though - $10 to win and $10 to show. Will probably end up being enough to replace all the balls I lost 😒

Dufferman I will say it was the first time I have ever skipped a hole because a dude got a mower stuck on the green!

Never had to skip a hole for this, but a few years ago I was in the last group playing a works society outing. Club we were at had their championship finals the Saturday after (we played Friday). Greenkeepers got themselves between our group and the one in front, and were cutting new holes in impossible positions, normal procedue for club championship finals contested by low and very low 'cappers. Our group didn't fall into that category and we got slaughtered. Our pleas for a cancellation (not having played the same course as the rest of the field) was met with equal howls of laughter and derision ...

Put up a mediocre 81 today.

4th round with the New Level 902 irons, and this experiment looks like a total fail. I just don't play or practice enough to hit the smaller heads anymore. Shame, they are gorgeous clubs, but I cannot hit them. Strangely enough, the New Level wedges are fantastic for me. They will stay. The Sub70 putter continues to shine.

Played a "rural" course called White Pines today....nice variety of holes, and always in nice shape! Played
the best I have played all year. 39-37-76 was my score, and even had a chance to shoot my age if I birdied
one of the last two holes. Two scrambling pars were the best I could do!

2nd qualifying round Senior Club Championship, had a no score 1st round. Today was 89 for 74, an improvement on recent rounds, but will struggle to qualify to matchplay rounds from there. Look forward to the challenge of the 3rd round in 2 weeks time though.

Driving was good today, irons average and short game ... amusing. Change to how I grip the putter stopped pulls/pushes and my distance control was short by a couple of inches but bang on line. Drained a long one on #17 for birdie 3, knew it was in all the way and would have walked it in if it hadn't been so far to go ...

Enjoyable round but I really do need to work on my short game - been saying it all season and I have time to practice so no more excuses, I will get out there ...

Had a good day today. 9 Pars, 7 bogies and 2 doubles. 83 is the best round I have shot this year except for an 81 on a short par 70 course earlier this year. 😍

First Wednesday evening game for a few weeks - had ideal conditions both overhead (60ish, very light breeze, overcast with the odd sunny interval) and underfoot (proper links golf, with fairways more brown than green, and the greens running very nicely). I didn't have my best approach game today - hit a nice hybrid approach on the first and a good solid 6-iron into the last, but not much to speak of in between these - but drove the ball well, kept it tidy around the greens and holed a lot of nice putts to keep things going. It added up to 73 in the end - a lot to like about how I played, but also a few things to work on.

Odd day... played 9, got the driver working better and the change I made with my left arm to fix my driver also holds true for my irons. No birdies... missed 3 putts 6-8 feet for birdie. Made 7 pars and 2 eagles... weird.

Went to the range and putting green afterwards. Range was to hit a few drives to see if I really fixed my issue and the putting green to because I needed to get a consistent set up and stroke.

Typhoon Some Penley IMS graphite shafts. 105 gram, stiff. I had those shafts (in 5.5 flex) in another set 4-5 years ago and loved them. Found some NOS but in 6.0 flex, and they are way too stout for me.
