garyt1957 Another idea that I’ve done on short par 4’s is to hit a stinger driver. Tee it at normal height, take it halfway back and halfway through. Mid height running shot that’s dead straight. If Walter plays a flat course this would be an option. I hit it probably 20 yards shorter than an average drive

Typhoon I hit something like that yesterday. I teed it up lower than normal and one of the guys playing from the blues was only 10 yards beyond me, he flat out drove me by 20-25 yards, and mine was dead straight and a runner. I just can't always make good contact when on the course with my driver. I'm inclined to keep playing it, and just try to get used to hitting it on the course. On the range I have all the time in the world to set up perfectly and not worry about how much time I'm taking. The course kinda requires less time spent on most everything, to keep pace of play. Been told a lot, you can suck at golf, just do it quickly. No 5-10 minute set up per hit.

Typhoon I do that also. I'll also choke up to the end of the grip and use it on long par 3s. Trust it more than a 3 wood.

77 at Timber Greens (par 71). Had 1 birdie. Made a long putt from off the green. Lag putted very well today. Typical of a high functioning hacker I didn't have my best stuff, but managed to hustle my ball around the course for a decent score.

Shot 39-48/87 today with a birdie on the par 5 #9. I played about as well as I can on the front, and then the back nine was more of an adventure. Felt like I shot over 50, lol.

Walked 9 at my local course here in CT. High 40's temp starting out, windy but sunny and got in into the 50s as I moved along. Shot a 41, with two birdies despite being inconsistent with the driver. Everything else was clicking though. Nice to get out.

Beautiful cloudy cool day. I shot an 82 that felt a lot worse. One birdie and one double. 11 greens but 38 putts. I couldn’t make anything. 🤢🤢🤮

Our team got our butts kicked. It looks like we lost the full ante of 10 bucks each.

The counter weighted SS (Swing Science) irons are awesome. Seriously. I’m going to have to try it in the hybrids next. Plus, the SS irons spin a lot more than my TS2s. It’s night and day. I am convinced I need very low COG irons. The TS2s are not that. Or maybe it’s the spring face thing that is making less spin.

After a long good run that saw my handicap drop 3 points since late August, In a little funk past week or so. Hit some good shots today particularly on the back where I hit 8/9 greens in reg but could not get any putts to drop

Just catching up on some pots. I have been very busy lately. This gets my vote for post of the year. Happy belated birthday, hope the pacer is working well and nice round!

Played on Friday the 13th. The wife and I took a long weekend trip to Laughlin. I got to play one of my favorite courses and the wife got 3.5hrs in the spa at the course.

Shot 46/42 at Laughlin Ranch. Wind was blowing a steady 20mph for most of the round.
No birdies but I hit 8/14 fairways in that wind. Only 2 girs and 30 putts on pretty slow greens. Green cost me a couple of strokes but the course was coming off of overseed. Played with 2 course employees and a member. I was consistently out diving them even though my tees were a good 1000 yards longer. They got a kick out of watching it. I played from 6550 with a 71.4/137 rating. Really fun day and the old timers were great to play with.

Lunch and a beer with the wife on the clubhouse patio capped off a great day.

I shot 38-39-77 at Bedford Hills GC in Temperance, MI today. 7 GIR, 30 putts, 2 birdies, including a chip-in. Just a perfect fall day, sunny with temps in the low 70's!!! We have about 2 more days of this weather in store, and then the shit's gonna hit the fan. Low 40's, rain and wind in the forecast all next week.....

SWMBO and I teamed up with another couple for our annual Guys& Gals scramble. Our gross 66 won Low Gross!

Beautiful day in Mi, my car said 81*? Shot 43-43-86 at a really nice course, Cherry Creek. Two way miss off the tee cost me early on then got that straightened out but just didn't make a putt all day. One birdie, three 7s killed my round.

43/40-83. I played a new course today. I have been driving by it for years, today I got to play it. It is a par 66 course with 10 par 4's, 7 par 3's, and 1 par 5. I got 10 bogeys, 3 doubles, 1 triple, 1 par, and 2 birdies!! I was a few inches from making the green in 2 on the par 5, granted it was only 450 yards, I made birdie on that one. I started off the round with 3 bogeys. My playing partner I was paired up with was a Persian singer, who moved here 6 years ago. He's a pretty cool guy, he was constantly out driving me, my short game was better. He started last year, so he's got time, like I do. On the back 9 we got a 3rd added to our group. Turns out he's from aspen and here for another month, then he's heading back there to ski during the day, and play music at night. He went 9 over for the 18. It was a great afternoon!!

Walterjn Great round Walter! Nice job avoiding the big numbers.. not one triple and 3 doubles over 18!! Sometimes a different course gels you focus better. Nice!

            Walterjn a Persian singer,

Is that a person who sings Persian music or a person from Persia who sings? Is Persia still a place? Ponderous.......
