Made it out to the simulator please for another round. Played Casa de Campo's Teeth of the Dog course. Beautiful course. Played much better this time. Played shorter tees but not really short; longest par three was 188 and the longest par 5 was about 530.
Shot 81. Made six pars on the front nine. Most of my drives were in the fairway or first cut. Distance was 203 to 224.
I was happy with the driver except that I had about fine minutes remaining so I went to the driving range mode where I could see the numbers. I was getting ball speeds between 129 and 135, with good clubhead paths, but the launch conditions were no good. Most of them had too much spin (3500-3800 range) and the ones that had better spin rates had launch angles that were way too low.
Gurus... Is this something that could be fixed by adjusting the set-up and/or swing, or is it a problem with the shaft specs??? I feel like I could be hitting drives in the 240-250 range with a ball speed of 135 if I could maximize the launch conditions.
At any rate, I played a lot better and had a lot more fun than last time. š
