fatshot I've had their drivers and hybrids, and now have 3 sets of their irons, all really nice toys. Just never got along with the FW clubs though.

43/45 today in the senior league. Nothing too memorable except a 55 yard pitch to 6 feet, which I made to save par. I only had one 3-putt from long range. It was nice to break 90 but unfortunately, I double bogeyed the last 2 holes and finished one stroke out of the money in my flight.

Last Wednesday I withdrew after 3 holes. I had spent the previous afternoon repairing my fence from storm damage. I pounded a crap ton of nails. After the first hole I was hacking every shot and my right arm and shoulder felt like rubber. It felt hopeless, so I left. Sucks getting old.

43 41 today. Cloudy and cold, but my knee survived another round!

41/40. Started out at around 50° but ended up at 70°. Wind was cold early on, but we survived.
Nothing special. Did have a dreaded(but rare) 3 putt. Soft conditions led to carry only hits with every club. Putts over 6' had to be banged to reach the cups.

Also....even thought we may lose some speed, and distance as we age, some things just seem to get better.
ex.....the topped hybrid. Past years it would maybe hop up/down and end up 'where ever'. Now, today....straight down the FW about 80 yds.. Just a learned thing through aging, I guess. 😉

Had me one of those yesterday enroute to a 44…except it was a 5 wood…but it only went 65’ish yards…I must not be old enough yet 😜

Also had a beautiful flop shot…dead in line with the hole…but…it decided to apex right over the top of the flag to the other side of the green…then take a scenic stroll down the hill with a perfect end over end roll right into the damn water hazard…so the mishap witness statements read…😆

I laughed after I hit that thing, because I normally will do it with my 3 wd the 1st or 2nd round out. I've never done it with a hybrid, but I was standing too far back from the ball.(after the fact knowledge, of course)

Played in our first scramble since rejoining our old club. Season opener "Ice Breaker". Played with another couple. I was pleasantly surprised to see how tight the net scores were. They paid net and gross for 5 flights. Net scores ranged from 52 to 62 (two outliers) with the majority of the scores in the 58 to 60 range. Maybe the sandbagging isn't prominent like our club in Florida was. We'd see net scores on the upper 40's there.

I shot 41-41-82 today at Bedford Hills GC in Temperance, MI. Actually hit the ball better today than I did last week, but didn't chip and putt nearly as well as I normally do. The thing that pleased me the most was that I was able to walk all 18, which I couldn't manage last week. Only 4 GIR and 31 putts, so short game needs work!! Pretty windy today, but temps were 68 degrees when we finished. Hopefully, spring is here in NW Ohio....!!

Several years ago, a friend and I went out for 18. Hot as holy hell that day, humid as a sauna. iirc, I shot something like 108 and beat hell outta him.
At the end of 18, heading for the clubhouse, we both looked at each other and said....'another 9'??
Hell yes.
It was just a miserable day, but we were playing golf. Not much can be better than that!! 👍

We all shot badly yesterday. At the bar afterwards we reminded ourselves as to how fortunate we are. The food tasted better!👍

I was surprised this a.m. with emails from courses I assumed were already open. 2 are still 2 days away, and 1 is not opening til 4/1.

Par4QC We have some open, but the ones nearest me are still closed. My course says they have a lot of downed branches to clean up and I can see that as my yard is littered after all the ice we had. I think some are just doing so well that they pick a date and stick to it no matter what the weather is. There is a very popular 45 hole facility near me that has always done that. They open and close at the same time no matter what the weather. And every round there will take you at least 5 hours.

I wish places would wait to open until they were in “playing shape”. But idiots around here will rush out as if it’s the only day we are open all year.

This weekend for instance… we have a group that played all winter indoors Saturday morning and had a great time. Cost them $55 each, they bring their own food and drinks. They cancelled this Saturday because they mentioned A few courses being open. Now it’s going to pour out all day Friday and end with snow into early Saturday morning. The course said they would still open no matter the conditions…. $120 with a cart. The place will be a shithole with branches etc… snow… standing water but. As I said, it must be be the only course in America open and for only one day!!!

Around here most places close December 1…. What’s the rush???
