Typhoon Played 18 today after the gym. Shot -5.

Even the best golfers in the world don't break par every round, but you do. šŸ¤” Is your course that easy? What's the length and course / slope rating? Most New England courses have some woods and are not wide open.

You say you hit bad / errant shots, but still are always well under par, even for 9 holes. šŸ˜Æ Must be the easiest course around. Either that or you should be on some kind of Tour. lol

VigilanteTrail I got my first hole in one using a rental set. Usually if I go somewhere I call ahead about rental sets ā€¦. Hate dragging my clubs on the plane. And I play the same with rentalsšŸ™„

Sneakylong Itā€™s not a tour quality course with 500 yard par 4ā€™s. Itā€™s tight but not long. As Iā€™ve said before Iā€™ve shot par with a 7 iron, 56 degree and putter.

The par 5ā€™ are reachable in 2 with an iron other than the 17th which is 575 yards. Itā€™s tight but you also donā€™t need driver all the timeā€¦ you just need to play smart. Our 10 th hole for instance i drivable at 300-320 but tighter than a Nunā€™s coach. There is a creek as well, at 170. Lay up to the creek and an easy approach but 90% of the people whip out driver and make 8. There is some water but nothing crazy.. I donā€™t make big mistakes or panicā€¦. Been shooting these scores for years.

Landon is still pissed at meā€¦

Yeah, the Blues at 5700 plus are short for you. And a 123 slope isnā€™t that high. And 6 par 3ā€™s. Still to be able to shoot under par every time at any length you still have to get the ball in the hole. šŸ‘ Never a bad putting day? lol

Sneakylong Bad putting day is a lot of 2 putts. I canā€™t remember my last 3 putt. Putting this year hasnā€™t been greatā€¦ probably costing me 3 shots. ā€¦ the inside 8 feet ones I expect to make

To somewhat quote Bobby Jones, "This guy plays a game with which I am not familiar"

You can understand the skepticism. You typically are 4 or 5 under per 18 holes. And sometimes 4 under for 9. So if putting isnā€™t that great this year, once that turns around youā€™ll typically be 7 to 8 under par. On your course that would be 61-62.

What do you typically shoot on a full size par 72. Assuming youā€™d be back around 6600-6800 yards. Iā€™ve played with several low handicap golfers. Youā€™d be in the plus handicap category, which is rarefied air. Youā€™re in the top percentile of all golfers.

Did you ever try playing on any of the Tours when you were in Florida?

Sneakylong I lived in Florida back in the 1980ā€™s and played some Spacecoast Tour events. On a normal size course Iā€™m typically -4 (handicap is +3.4}. Since going to a shorter course I havenā€™t bothered paying for a GHIN because I really havenā€™t played the last 3 yearsā€¦ it would be lower than +3.4 I think.

I keep it in play off the tee, still hit it 280, accurate with my irons because I donā€™t go after sucker pins. I play a drawā€¦. It donā€™t try to cut one into a right pin. Iā€™d the pin is on the right, I hit to the middle of the green, take my 2 putts at worst. Iā€™m looking at GIRā€™s. I practice green side shots and chips all the time so I get it up and down a lot if I miss a green.

I donā€™t try for the hero shotsā€¦. They cost you more than they reward you

Sneakylong I used to be a caddy too so that puts things on a different level mentally. Some of the hacks at our place, I could save them 7 shots a round f I caddies for them and told them what to hit, where to aim and when to putt instead of chip.

Our place like I said is short and tight, use your head and youā€™ll score. Donā€™t and youā€™ll lose a dozen balls a round and shoot 110. You should see the score cards left behind in the carts. And the leaguesā€¦. They should really skip the golf and just go to the bar. Their wives wonā€™t knowā€¦. Most league guys are shooting 55 -70 for 9 holes here, honest to a Godā€¦ we look up the scores online. Theyā€™re out there 9 holes 2.5-3 hours.šŸ™„

They would just stare at you and wonder what the heck you're talking about. šŸ™„

I think a caddie could help me. And definitely could help anyone shooting 90+. Usually some of that 90+ game is poor risk/reward decision making. "I duffed my drive, I'm still 220 out. It's in 3 inch rough, and there is a bunker 30 yards ahead of me. I have to hit my 3 wood." Um, no, here is your 9 iron.

Our front nine is open. I imagine hole 7 is playing as a par 3. Whatever, it's open! šŸ’ƒ

After a flood like this, they use fire hose size water jets to wash the mud off the #7 fairway and back into the creek.

1 over par 72 at Timber Greens. Had 3 birdies all on the back. Hit some great shots, especially my fairway woods. Started off bogey, bogey and then it was off to the races.

Shot an 88 in the cold rain yesterday. Still struggling with my swing and I basically make a par and then a double to offset it.

I did win $32 as I got dragged into a grudge match and we took Front, Back, Total and had some junk. My partner also shot 88 and after the first few holes we zigged and zagged perfectly. I got wet, but food and drink were free. The degenerate gamblers also had their own side bet, but only $5 exchanged between them.

I played this morning. A beautiful day with temps in the low to mid 70's and low humidity.

I struggled with my swing on three consecutive holes on the front and then again the same thing on the back. Putting wasn't great either. But I managed to get it together for a string of 10 holes after the struggles on the front. Then I started pulling things hard left. I did manage to par the last hole. The round was also reasonably quick, 3:45.

Played 9 after I spent 4 hours collecting trash and a backpack blower. Split my day between those 2.
My 9 started off with a chip in birdie on one. A bogey on 3. A one putt birdie on 4. One more bogey on 6. And a bogey on 9. Everything else was a par with birdie putts on 3, 7, and 8. I also hit a nice little draw on 3, 4, and 8. I was so close to going around in even par... I missed it with one bogey, or a missed birdie...

Played poorly today. 86 with 6 greens and 37 putts. Driving was okay but everything else was not. I could not make a putt. I had 2 three putts which is only 1 more than average. But only 1 one putt, which is way off. And that one putt was a tap in.
