How did you shoot today at Golf

Agree 100%. We have one at my "home course".......185 from the senior tees and the green sits right on top of
a rather steep slope. Nine times out of ten, my tee shot hits right into that slope and dies right there! The tenth
time, I choose to hit driver and run it over the green....!

There's a few short par 4s to make up for it. Even Steven.
I shot 46/45 on a mostly cloudy, windy day. Driving was decent, putting was okay. On the back nine I figured out something with my irons that seemed to help. Hopefully I'll remember what it is the next time I play. That won't be until May.
Got around in less than 4 hours.

Concur 100%!!! 2 of the 4 par 3’s at my course are 205 & 191 from the whites…carding a par is like getting birdie.
And #6, the 205 yard par 3 with water along the left, is right after #5 a damn 425 yard par 4…let’s just say that little stretch can humble many a dude if you are not making the right decisions.
VigilanteTrail little stretch can humble many a dude if you are not playing the forward tees.......
Fixed it.
My course opens on Thursday, but the weather will be cold and rainy until Sunday. My first round of the season will be on Monday. Finally.
I played 18 last night, just getting in before dark. Very quick round walking with 2 friends. I scored horribly, shooting 93, but I did finally start hitting my irons. Unfortunately that's mostly what screwed me as I flew greens and long at my club is OB or just asking for double bogey. I was 2 clubs longer with my irons, but of course I was short and crooked with the driver and even my hybrid.
80s and super humid, is summer here so soon?
I shot an eventful 81.
Bad: 2 drives OB left.
Good: Each time I got a one putt bogey. And net par.
Bad: Lost 3 balls, again. I only carry about 5.
Bad: You know that hole I documented a few days ago? I’ve hit my tee shots into the lake on the last two rounds. Today it was only 200 to the lake. I used a 9 wood, which is my 160 or so club, and it rolled in with no doubt.
Bad: 6 hybrid. I’m sick of it.
Good: 11 wood replacement for 6H. I hit the 6H left into the junk on the first par 3. The next one I tried the 11 wood for its first shot in a real round. Straight at the pin, and at the time it was closest to the pin. I don’t know if it held up.
Average: 7 greens.
Bad: I 4-putted my first green.
Great: But I only had 27 putts total.
Good: 3 birdies.
I just can’t stop shooting myself in the foot. I’m striking the ball well overall, and chipping and putting well. But the mistakes are killers.
In the senior golf league today I played the first 12 holes 1 over par (1 birdie, 2 bogies). Eight GIR. I haven't been in a zone like that in several years. Of course the last 6 holes were back to reality, so I ended up shooting 82. A disappointing finish but it was still a net 63 and won my flight by 5 shots.
79 at Tarpon Springs. No birdies, but had several chances. We went out first at 7:00 and were done at 9:43. Just two of us and we had a twosome behind us.
The same guy thanked us again for playing so quickly. The best clubs in my bag continue to be my fairways woods. Hit some beauties today as well.
I played in a geezer scramble today. It was the MGA event this week. A NET scramble, which I have never heard of. I don't know how they calculated the strokes but we had 11 of them. We had 7 birdies and 1 bogey for 66 gross, 55 net. We won. So now I can no longer say I've never been on a winning scramble team!
Our D player had a lot of old infomercial clubs. He had 4 Square Strike clubs, and a couple iRT-5 hybrids which I had never heard of.
DonM First I had the 8, then I bought a 7. I loved the 8, but the 7 is too flat, believe it or not. Anyway I figured out a setup problem that was hurting my irons, and now I'm hitting my irons a lot better. So no need for the 8 hybrid right now
Do you find these hit higher than irons? My buddy who’s 84 can’t elevate his irons anymore. I told him about the Eleven hybrids.
